Hrzic III http://www.stormpages.com/edhrzic/Yugioh.htm or http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/2247/Yugioh.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------ BATTLE 242: A True Duelist It's Yugi's turn. He places a card, summons a Kuribo in defense mode, and has a choice to make as who to attack with his Gilfar Demon. The best opportunity for Yugi is to attack Jounouchi - and Jounouchi tells him so. It's the best way - for being a true duelist. And Jounouchi has to settle the score with Malik, if he's to free Mai. Yugi attacks him (J's LP: 400). Jounuchi's turn comes. He summons a Legendary Fisherman (4/1850/1600). He attacks Kaiba. Kaiba activates his Destruction Ring, and the Legendary Fisherman is destroyed. But Malik's Life Points drop to zero. Jounouchi had used his Gravedigger card to use the Curse of Pain, redirecting the damage to Malik. It is then Kaiba's turn, who attacks Jounouchi with his Blade Knight. Jounouchi's Life Points are reduced to zero. The semi-finals are not set. It's Jounouchi versus Malik in the first match, followed by Yugi versus Kaiba. BATTLE 243: To The Final Stage! At the top of the duel tower, the final four gather. Kaiba looks forward to the duel with Yugi, and the first semi-final duel gets underway almost immediately. Jounouchi summons a Panther Warrior (4/2000/1600). Just as he ends his turn, the area turns black. The Game of Darkness has begun. If Jounouchi should lose, he will suffer the same fate as Mai. Malik summons a Hell Poemer. HELL POEMER 4/2000/1200 When this Monster dies, a hellish song is sung from the opponent's Cemetery. Jounouchi accepts the Game of Darkness. Battle 244: The Hellish Song! Malik keeps talking about what will happen to Jounouchi when he loses the duel, but Jounouchi just tells him to end his turn, or do something else. He places a card, and ends his turn. That's when Jounouchi notices the lifeline going from him to the Panther Warrior. Malik explains that he will suffer the same pain as his Monster. Malik also has a lifeline going from his Hell Poemer to himself. Jounouchi summons a Rocket Warrior (4/1500/1300), and just as he does, Malik activates his Ambush Trap card. AMBUSH Trap Activate when your opponent summons a Monster. Special Summon a level 4 or lower Monster from your hand. He chooses to summon Viser Death, which grabs onto the Panther Warrior's head, squeezing it in a vise. Jounouchi barely shakes it off, and gets back up, surprising Malik. Jounouchi attacks the Hell Poemer with the Rocket Warrior, then follows up with the Panther Warrior (M's LP: 3000). However, Malik reveals that when the Hell Poemer is in the Cemetery, it will discard a card at random from Jounouchi's hand at the end of his Battle Phases. It yanks a card from Jounouchi's hand, and puts it in his Cemetery. BATTLE 245: Lapse Into the Darkness of Death? Malik takes his turn. He sets a card, then summons a Gil Gars (4/1800/1200). Malik then ends his turn. Jounouchi draws, and grabs a Psycho Shocker. However, since the Viser Death is attached to the Panther Warrior, he can't sacrifice it. Jounouchi plays a Baby Dragon in defense mode, then puts his Rocket Soldier into defense mode. Malik puts on the pressure with Viser Death, reducing the Panther Warrior's attack strength to 1000, then the Hell Poemer grabs the Psycho Shcoker from Jounouchi's hand and discards it. Malik isn't finished, as he activates the "Coffin Seller" Trap card. COFFIN SELLER Permanent Trap Whenever your opponent discards a card from his or her hand, do 700 damage to him or her. Jounouchi receives damage (J's LP: 3300). Malik takes his turn, and sets two cards. He thinks about the combo that he is going to pull off with the "Infernal Calamity" Trap card. INFERNAL CALAMITY Trap Activate when your opponent attacks. Put all of your and your opponent's Monsters into your opponent's Cemetery. Malik then sacrifices his Gil Gars to summon the Legend Devil. LEGEND DEVIL 6/1600/1800 This Monster's attack strength increases by 700 each turn. Malik finally ends his turn. Jounouchi takes this opportunity to activate his Reverse card, "Quiz." QUIZ Magic Each player guesses the topmost Monster card in his or her opponent's Cemetery. If the player is incorrect, your opponent Special Summons that Monster. Jounouchi goes first. Since Malik sacrificed his Gil Gars to summon the Legend Devil, Jounouchi knows the topmost card is Gil Gars. It's Malik's turn to answer, but he doesn't know, as the Hell Poemer's effect randomly discarded it. Since he can't guess, Jounouchi Special Summons the Psycho Shocker. It then destroys Malik's "Coffin Seller" and "Infernal Calamity." BATTLE 246: The Burning Prison! The Psycho Shocker has just nuked both of Malik's Trap cards. It then attacks and destroys the Legend Devil (M's LP: 2400). Jounouchi turns his Monsters to attack mode, and attacks with the Baby Dragon, Rocket Soldier and Panther Warrior. Malik activates his Trap card, "Wall of Darkness Air." WALL OF DARK AIR Trap The player is surround in a wall of air for this turn, and cannot be attacked by enemy Monsters. Malik's turn begins, and draws and summons a Monster to Jounouchi's Field by sacrificing his Psycho Shocker and Baby Dragon. LAVA GOLEM 8/3000/2500 Sacrifice 2 of your opponent's Monsters on the Field to summon this card to your opponent's Field. This Monster does 700 damage to its controller during his or her Standby Phase. However, Jounouchi has control of it. BATTLE 247: A Bolt Out Of The Blue! Jounouchi gets nothing in his draw, and attacks Malik with the Lava Golem. Malik activates his Trap card. MONSTER RELIEF Activate when your opponent attacks. Return 1 of your Monsters to your hand, then Special Summon a level 4 or less Monster from your hand. Malik returns the Viser Death from the Panther Warrior to his hand, then summons it, blocking the Lava Golem's attack. Jounouchi then takes 700 damage from the Lava Golem (J's LP: 2600). Malik sets a card, then plays a permanent Magic card. MACHINE REPLICATOR Permanent Magic While you have a Monster with an attack strength of 500 or less on the Field, the power of the Machine Replicator allows you to Special Summon up to 2 of those same Monsters from your deck. This allows him to summon two more Viser Deaths from his deck. He then ends his turn. Jounouchi is contemplating what to do. He draws Gilford the Lightning. GILFORD THE LIGHTNING 8/2800/1400 Sacrifice 3 Monsters to summon this Monster, and destroy all of your opponent's Monsters on the Field. He thinks, then gets an idea. He plays the Angel's Die card. He multiplies the Viser Death's attack strength by 6, creating an illegal target for the Machine Replicator, which destroys the other two Viser Deaths. Jounouchi then sacrifices the Lava Golem, Rock Soldier and Panther Warrior to summon Gilford the Lightning. BATTLE 248: Ra's Third Ability! Now that Gilford the Lightning has been summoned, it destroys Malik's remaining Viser Death. Gilford then attacks Malik directly, but Malik activates a Trap card. DEMON REFLECTION Trap Activate when 1 of your opponent's Monsters attacks. Discard 1 card from your hand, and your opponent's Monster attacks your opponent's reflection instead. Do 1000 damage to your opponent. Gilford attacks Jounouchi's reflection (J's LP: 1600). Malik discards Ra for the effect of the card. Jounouchi ends his turn. Malik draws, then useds Raise Dead to bring Ra into play. He now activates Ra's third ability by speaking Hieratic, God Phoenix. Ra turns into a flaming bird or prey. BATTLE 249: Dance of the Phoenix! Even though Ra's attack and defense strengths are zero, Malik isn't worried about attacking. The God Phoenix ability allows Malik to pay 1000 Life Points to destroy one of his opponent's Monsters on the Field. Since this is a Game of Darkness, Malik is only concerned with killing Jounouchi's soul with the pain that Gilford will feel from being incinerated. Malik activates the God Phoenix (M's LP: 1400). Gilford is destroyed, and Jounouchi nearly collapses. Malik's positive that Jounouchi is dead, but he stands back up. Jounouchi has a vision of Yugi, who says that he drew Gear Freed on his final turn, attacked, and won. Jounouchi wakes up from the vision. He draws Gear Freed, summons it, and before he can finish the word "attack," he collapses. BATTLE 250: A Light to the Future! Jounochi lays motionless on the battlefield, and he doesn't respond, no matter what his friends do. As Malik leaves, Kaiba says that he has the perfect card to get rid of Ra. Jounouchi's friends are with him as he is taken to the Medical Room. Yugi goes outside. He can't fight without his friend there, in the bad shape that he's in. But Yugi swears that he catches a brief glimpse of Jounouchi. The Millennium Tauk, which was thought to have lost its powers, gives Yugi a brief image of he and Jounouchi confronting each other in the streets of Domino City. Their Battle City isn't over yet. Yugi picks up his Duel Disk with renewed vigor. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Fin.
