Hrzic III http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Alley/2247/Yugioh.htm ----------------------------------------------------------------- Battle 215: The Proof of Family! Jounouchi takes his turn, puts the Baby Dragon in defense mode, and ends it. Rishid states that he has no possible chance left of winning, but Jounouchi says that he will fight until his Life Points are reduced to zero. Selket eats the next monster (Selket's attack strength 5225). In the battle with Rishid, he has figured something out: the man standing in front of him is not Malik (NOTE: Remember, at this point, Rishid is masquerading as Malik). Rishid is about to attack with Selket when Malik sends him a message to finish Jounouchi off with Ra. By sacrificing Selket and half his Life Points, Rishid summons Ra from the Shrine. Battle 216: The Judgement of God! Here, Rishid reveals one of Ra's powers - it's attack and defense strengths are equal to the totals of the three monsters that are used to summon it. Since Selket had eaten three monsters, it fulfills the three-monster sacrifice requirement to summon Ra. Also, Malik reminisces to himself as to why Seto can control a God card - he was the wielder of the Millennium Rod in ancient Egypt. Rishid attacks with Ra, but it doesn't attack. Instead, the aura of the Ra card from Malik's deck arises, and the fake Ra's form rises into the sky as energy bolts, and rain down on the Field, hitting both Rishid and Jounouchi. Both collapse. No one can help them since the duel is still going on. If they don't wake up at the end of the turn, they will both be disqualified. With the apparent attack on Rishid, the other Malik takes over Malik's body. Battle 217: The Darkness Awakens! Rishid has a vision of Ishtahl, saying that he could not be one of the Ishtahl family without being able to control the God card. Jounouchi wakes up in school. He'd been sleeping all day, when Yugi reminds him about the tournament. He drops his cards as they're about to leave. Jounouchi wakes, and stands up. Since Rishid is still unconscious, Jounouchi is the winner by default. Here, Malik makes his appearance to the group at large, and hints at the reason why Kaiba can control The God Of Obelisk. Battle 218: The Lone Duelist Rishid is taken to the infirmary, and the remaining duelists get ready for the next round. Jounouchi said that he had a dream of them while unconscious. Mai asks is she was there; he gives a resounding no, and Jounouchi is given a scolding by Anzu. One of the participants in the next round will be Mai. The rest of the group is about to go out with her when she tells them to stay there. In the infirmary, Mailk has severely wounded the doctor, and is about to kill Rishid with the blade in the Millennium Rod. However, he is picked as the second participant, and Rishid is saved for now. On the duel platform, Mai and Malik begin their duel. However, this duel will be a Game of Darkness. But Yugi and company have come out to watch the duel, and give Mai moral support. Battle 219: The Black Game! The Game of Darkness starts, with Yugi telling Mai the consequences: if she loses, she'll forfeit her life. Mai thinks that he's trying to make a fool of her. Mai decides to accept. She summons an Amazoness Swordswoman (4/1500/1600), places a card, and ends her turn. This is when Malik points out something: the line attached from the Swordswoman's body to her own. This is the Life Line. If the monster is destroyed, its controller will feel it. Malik summons the Executioner Makyura, and attacks. Mai activates the Amazoness Phalanx, reducing Makyura's attack strength by 500, and preventing it from moving. The Swordswoman counterattacks, cutting Makyura's head off. But it also has the effect of cutting Malik's head off. Mai can only stand there in shock and scream. However, when Makyura goes to the Cemetery, Malik can activate a Trap card from his hand and discard the rest of it. He activates the "Life Rope" card, reviving Makyura and increasing its attack strength by 800. Malik puts his head back on, and Makyura destroys the Swordswoman (MK's LP: 3600, MI's LP: 4000). However, Mai shares the same wound, spraying blood from her chest. Battle 220: The Duelist That Won't Give In Yugi tells Mai not to get taken in by Malik's illusion. Once Mai realizes this, the pain and blood disappear. Mai summons a Amazoness Chain-Wielder (4/1500/1300) in attack mode, then places a card and ends her turn. Mai thins about the effect of her Chain-Wielder: when it goes to the Cemetery, she can pay 1000 Life Points to steal card from her opponent's deck. That will be the Ra card. Malik plays the "Vise Demon Viser Death" (4/500/?), which is an invincible monster for three turns. He attacks the Chian- Wielder, its vise squeezing the Chain-Wielder's head, and thus Mai's. Mai activates the "Hand of Burial" card, sending her own Chain- Wielder to the Cemetery. Paying 1000 Life Points (MK's LP: 2600), she grabs the Ra card from his deck. Battle 221: Letting God Go! Mai places two cards, and summons an Amazoness Martial Artist (4/1500/1300) in attack mode, and ends her turn. Malik places a card and attacks with Makyura. Mai activates the "Amazoness Gypsy" card, switching the attack strengths of Makyura and the Martial Artist, destroying Makyura. Malik then activates the "Bequeathed Hand," when allows him to draw until his hand is up to five cards when a monster's attack strength is reduced to 0 (NOTE: Because it's destroyed.) Then Malik activates Makyura's effect, playing the "Torture Wheel" from his hand on the Martial Artist, preventing it from moving, and doing 500 damage to Mai during each of her turns. Mai then counters with the "Quick Save" Trap card, that allows her to return one of her monsters to her hand that was targeted with a Trap card, and then summon another card from her hand to the Field. Mai summons a Harpy Lady (5/1300/1400). On her turn, she plays "Ten-Thousand Reflections," turning the Harpy into three, whereupon she sacrifices all three to summon Ra...which is nothing but a metal sphere. Battle 222: God Awakens! Mai has indeed summoned Ra. However, Malik reveals another of Ra's abilities. Mai looks at the card, where its text has changed to Hieratic. Only those who can read Hieratic can control Ra. Mai finishes her turn by placing a card (Silver Mirror Wall). Malik plays Viser Shock (4/800/600), which returns all face down cards on the Field to their owner's hands. Her attacks with Death and Shock (MK's LP: 1300), paralyzing her with pain. Malik then starts to chant Hieratic, gaining control of Ra, and turning it into its true form. Battle 223: The Profound Darkness! Ra's true form has been revealed (3900/4200). Mai is unable to do anything. The other Malik states that he was born during the birthday ceremony where Malik's back was scarred. His goal is destroy everything, and create a world of his own. Jounouchi makes a dash for the platform, and lowers it. Jounouchi tries to free Mai, but even though it's supposed to be simply a virtual reality image, he can't free her. Just then, Ra attacks. Jounouchi appears to be hit, but it is Yugi that has jumped in the way. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Fin.
