What Is It? ---------------------------------------------------------------- This is a "Setting" for the CS! game. Players pick a Character from a Setting File, and use that Character during the game. Different settings give different strengths, weaknesses and flavor to the game. This first setting is called "Madder". The term "Madder" stands for the twenty-feet tall, mechanical, humanoid engines of destruction. These weapons are piloted by humans, and giant arenas -- the loser becoming scrapped. II. Character Listing ---------------------------------------------------------------- ==========| Peacemaker Madder Weapon: Major Beam Cannon Suit: Heart Special Ability: [Reload] Once during the Post-Combat Step, you may discard a Number card from your hand to shuffle a King from your discard pile into your deck. A: Dual Beam Blast Has an attack value of 10; or, you may choose to let it have an attack value of 14, and you cannot play an Ace as an attack for the remainder of the game. K: Beam Blast Has an attack value of 8. Q: Beam Saber Has an attack value of 7. J: Gun Whip Has an attack value of 6. 2: Shield Play during Damage Absorption. Reduce the damage done to you by 2. ==========| Noisemaker Madder Weapon: Chainsaw Suit: Diamond Special Ability: [Rev] Once during the Pre-Attack Step, you may use this ability. For the rest of the turn, if you do damage to your opponent, that damage is increased by +1, and your opponent chooses and discards 1 in his or her hand (in addition to any other discards). You may use this ability only three times per game. A: Hyper Cut Has an attack value of 9. If you damage your opponent, your opponent chooses and discards 2 cards from his or her hand. K: Wide Cut Has an attack value of 7. Damage from this attack cannot be absorbed by even Number cards. Q: Deep Cut Has an attack value of 7. If you damage your opponent, your opponent chooses and discards 1 card from his or her hand. J: Slash Has an attack value of 6. 2: Dodge Avoid your opponent’s attack. ==========| Strifemaker Madder Weapon: Lance Suit: Spade Special Ability: [Lance Cannon] Once during the Pre-Attack Step, you may discard 2 cards from your opponent's deck, and 1 card from your deck. You may use this ability only three times per game. A: Final Impalation Has an attack value of 14. K: Throw Lance Has an attack value of 9. Your value next turn is reduced by 2. Leave this card out as a reminder, and discard it next turn. Q: Stab Has an attack value of 7. Damage from this attack cannot be absorbed by odd Number cards. J: Swipe Has an attack value of 6. 2: Parry Play during Damage Absorption. Reduce the damage done to you by 2. ==========| Soulmaker Madder Weapon: Hatchets Suit: Club Special Ability: [Soul Cry] Once during the Pre-Attack Step, you may have both players discard 1 card from his or her hand. A: Hatchet Barrage Has an attack value of 9. If your value is higher, you may increase the damage done by +1 for each card that you discard from your hand. K: Dual-Slash Has an attack value of 8. Damage from this attack can only be absorbed by one Number card. Q: Down Slash Has an attack value of 7. J: Slash Has an attack value of 6. 2: Parry Play during Damage Absorption. Reduce the damage done to you by 2. ==========| Timemaker Madder Weapon: Bazooka Suit: Heart Special Ability: [Hidden Arsenal] Once during the Pre-Attack Step, you may discard the top card of your deck. If it is a Number card, choose a King, Queen or Jack in your discard pile and shuffle it into your deck. A: Burst Shell Has an attack value of 11. Damage from this attack can only be absorbed by Hearts. K: Indirect Fire/5 Discards 2 cards from your opponent’s deck. Q: Incendiary Shell Has an attack value of 6. Your opponent draws 1 less card during the next Draw Phase. J: Armor Piercing Shell Has an attack value of 6. Each card used to absorb damage from this attack reduces the damage by 1 only. 2: Impact Shell Has an attack value of 6. ==========| Fallmaker Madder Weapon: Heavy Hammer Suit: Club Special Ability: [Overriding Strength] Each player’s hand size is decreased by 1. A: Impact Hammer Has an attack value of 9. Your opponent draws only 1 card during the next Draw Step. K: Crush Has an attack value of 7. Q: Bash Has an attack value of 6. Your opponent draws 1 less card during the next Draw Step. J: Tackle Has an attack value of 5. Your opponent chooses and discards 1 card from his or her hand. 2: Heavy Armor If this card is discarded from your deck due to damage, the rest of that damage is prevented. ==========| Sailmaker Madder Weapon: Rapier Suit: Spade Special Ability: [Tech Saber] Your 3s and 4s count as 5s. A: A Thousand Stabs Has an attack value of 9. Look at your opponent’s hand, and for each Spade or Club found there, increase this card’s value by +1. K: Puncture Has an attack value of 7. If your value is higher, look at your opponent’s hand and choose 1 card there to be discarded. Q: Stab Has an attack value of 7. J: Slash Has an attack value of 6. 2: Parry Play during Damage Absorption. Reduce the damage done to you by 2. ==========| Warmaker Madder Weapon: Heavy Armor Naginata Suit: Diamond Special Ability: [Slow] Your opponent’s values are increased by +1 (to a maximum of 10). A: Final Cutter Has an attack value of 12. If your value is higher, discard cards from your opponent’s deck equal to the number of cards his or her hand. K: Dash Cut Has an attack value of 10. You and your opponent cannot play any Special cards next turn. Q: Slice Has an attack value of 8.
