Defender Tournament
Overview
All pilots registered for a Defender Tournament shall be split into two Groups, a Defender and an Intruder Group. Each Group must work with each other and against the other Group in order for their Group to emerge victorious. In this tournament, a Group wins, not an individual team.
As previously indicated, all pilots shall be split into two Groups, a Defender and an Intruder Group. Before the tournament begins, each Group shall go to their own chat channel and create two-person teams. Each group shall have no more than 10 minutes to form teams. Each team in the Intruder Group shall play against each team in the Defender Group. If one Group has more teams than the other (a maximum of one team may differentiate the two Groups), the Group with the higher number of teams will have one team sit in each round.
If time permits, once all teams have played each other the Tournament Official may decide to extend the tournament by having the Groups switch roles (i.e., the Defenders become the Intruders and the Intruders become the Defenders).
The Objective
The objective in each round is to score as many points for your Group as possible. In each round, ten points shall be at stake for each team. The Group with the most points at the end of the tournament wins. The way a team scores points depends upon the Group to which they belong. This is outlined below for each type of group (Intruder and Defender):

Notes for the Tournament Official
This section contains notes for the Tournament Official. If you will not be officiating a Defender Tournament, you don't have to read the remainder of this page.
I've specified the "order of play" for Defender Tournaments of various sizes (3-8). We have yet to have a one night tournament with more than eight teams, so I haven't gone to the trouble of specifying the "order of play" for tournaments containing larger than eight teams.
