Horse Colours

Horse come in many differnent colours. Below is a list of all the different coat colours and pictures to go.

Appaloosa:
There are 8 different coat patterns an Appaloosa can have. A true Appalossa has stripped hooves and sclera around their eyes.

Bay:
Dark brown with red on body. A Bay has black points- mane, tail and legs.

Black:
Black all over except white markings; no brown hairson muzzle or flanks.

Roan:
Roaning is constant from cirth, usually with little roaing on legs and head. Roaning may appear on any colour.

Blucksin / Dun:
Sooty yellow, to yellow-red body with black points and usually has a dorsal strip, allthough this isn't necessary.

Chestnut:
Red-gold all over. Mane and tail are the same colour but can be lighter.

Cremello:
Is the double dilution of Chestnut. Off-white or cream body with even lighter mane and tail.

Grey:
Grey horses go from almost a white to a dark grey. A grey horse is born a certain colour and becomes grey as they get older.

Grulla:
Dilution of black or seal brown, not a misture of white and black hairs. Black points, usually has dorsal stripe.

Liver Chestnut:
Very dark brown. Brown chestnut is very evident on lower legs, flanks, and muzzle.

Palomino:
Dilution of Chestnut. The Palomino is very simialr to the buskcin except it has near whtte mane and tail and has no black on legs.

Pieblad:
Basically, a Piebald horse has big patches of black and white all over the body..

Skewbald:
Patches of black, white and brown covering the whole body
