This breed hails from the Le Perche region in Normady. The features of this breed are its' extremely hard feet, they have no feathers at their heels, have long ears, prominent eyes and a flat nose with very wide and open nostrils. Their necks are long and arched. The Percheron has served as a was horse, as a stage coach horsem as a farm horse and pulled heavy artillery during World War I. The Percheron has the advantage over many other breeds in that it adapts easily to different climatic conditions. It is a hardy, even temepred and is a powerful and versatile horse. |
