FEBRUARY/MARCH HIGHLIGHTS AND MILESTONE'S

*I still like to play with my feet and shake my foot rattles.
*I love Patty Cake, Peek-A-Boo and all the other fun games Mommy & Daddy know. One of my favorite games is Mommy's rendition of The Three Little Pigs - I think Great Uncle David will be proud of Mommy for this one - The name of the game is "Run Little Pigs Run". This is how we play: When I get a little fussy, Mommy says "Oh no, here comes Big Bad Juuuuuliaaa. I almost always smile then and forget about my bad mood. She then says, "Big Bad Julia is trying to Huff and Puff and blow the house down, and then she will try to eat up the little Piggies. And then I get my toes and put them in my mouth. But then Mommy "rescues" the little piggies (my toes) out of my mouth and moves my feet back and forth and says, "Run, Run, Run, Run, Run Little Piggies, Run to your brothers house. And then sometimes I chase them over there and Mommy says, "Little Pigs, Little Pigs let me come in and they say, "Not by the hair of our chinny chin chin Big Bad Julia, etc. etc. (So, Great Uncle David, Mommy has made sure I know that pigs can run.)
*I love riding in my stroller. Mommy and I went riding in the Albany mall one day. And we went down through the pecan grove behind our house all the way to the pond and through the pine woods trail. Mommy told me she used make that walk all the time when she was pregnant with me. We had a wonderful time. It has been beautiful weather off and on. Glad all that rain we had lately is finally gone. Annie is our body guard when we walk too. Annie and I are becoming great friends. Mommy does get sort of mad when Annie wakes me up from a nap by her barking once in a while.
*I celebrated My 1st Valentine's Day. Mommy & Daddy got me a cute red & white teddy bear and I had my picture made with him and my heart & bear quilt that my late Great Grandma Beals made. Daddy promised to scan the picture and get it on this page soon. So check back in a day or two.
*I spend a lot of time in my Exersaucer. A Picture of me in it will be coming soon too. Also, my Johnny Jump Up. I am really good at making it go. I also spend a lot of time playing with my Pooh Gym, reading books with Mommy, and playing with my stuffed animals and toys.
*I like to chew on my fingers and anything else I can get hold of. Mommy thinks I may have teeth coming in one of these days.
*I will be taking my first Airplane ride in a few weeks. Mommy and I are going to visit Grandma Mimi and Grandpa Ireland in Indianapolis, Indiana April 2nd-April 13th. Mommy & I are getting very excited about this, and we have already started packing. We are hoping to visit with Great Great Aunt Jo, Great Uncle David & family, Cousin Brian & family & The Emsweller's along with Grandma & Grandpa, Great Grandma Dalrymple & Great Grandpa Newton and Uncle Scott and Aunt Lisa
*Mommy & I revamped my web page a little. How do you like my Pooh Wallpaper and Background Music? I really like it. I sit on Mommy's & Daddy's lap and watch the screen when they work on the computer. Next project is decorating my real room. Daddy is working as hard as he can getting the "new" house ready. Well, it will be new to me. Actually it is my late Great Grandma Hattie Smith's house. Daddy is fixing it up for us and my room is going to be really neat.
*My friend Leslie Pollock gave me a lot of REALLY nice dresses and clothes that were hers and her cousin Hannah's. Mommy was thrilled to death and seems to think putting 2-3 outfits a day on me is more fun than one. Sometimes I am all for this, but other days you can count me out.
*I make all kinds of noises including squeeling like a little pig, blowing bubbles, and chattering.
*I love music. And Mommy sings songs about me, Julia, to the tune of other songs. I really like that. There's "Hey Julia" to the tune of "Hey Jude" and there's "Ju, Ju, Ju, Ju, Julia Ann", to the tune of Bar, Bar, Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann" and "Rock-A-Bye Julia", to the tune of Rock-A-Bye Baby.
*I am sitting up a few seconds at a time by myself.
*Mema & Papa Harris are still taking really good care of me while Mommy & Daddy work. I like to sit on the front porch with Papa in the big rocking chair and watch the cars and birds go by. A pair of bluebirds are building a nest in the birdhouse right in front of the porch. I like to watch them too. And the very best place in all the world to take a nap is on Mema's shoulder!

SIX MONTH REPORT:

I had a doctor appointment today (March 16th). I am now 16 lbs 2 oz and 26.25 inches. That is the 50th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. I was pronounced very healthly in every way. I sat up by myself for Dr. Smith and Mommy was so proud.

Mema Harris went with Mommy and me to see Doctor Smith. He is a pretty funny guy. But I could do without that nurse poking me so much. I got one oral polio vacine, a finger prick, and three shots. Luckily that part doesn't last long. This time I didn't even cry very much. After the doctor visit we went shopping. I like to shop already, and Mommy always takes me to the toy department! Mommy & Mema bought me some new foods to try. Vegetables like squash, peas, sweet potatoes and carrots, and meats like chicken, turkey, and beef. Dr. Smith said I could even try some table foods. Anything soft and mushy. Sounds like fun. Tonight I tried Gerber Chicken for the first time and Apricots. Not too bad. I ate it all up to Mommy's surprise. I made kind of a funny face at first but decided it was pretty good.
