And don't kid yourselves into thinking that the U.S. Government will always protect your rights. We're living in a time of great political and social upheval. Even now Jerry Falwell is calling Lilith Fair a bunch of lesbians (nothing wrong with that) and pagans (nothing wrong with that) who are paying respect to a Biblical demon (who cares?) Lilith was, according to Jewish lore, the first wife of Adam who was kicked out of the Garden for refusing to be subservient and lay beneath Adam. She was cast into the world and supposedly became a demon. (And later she became the mother to all vampires in WhiteWolf's Vampire: Masquerade role playing games.) Pat Robertson blamed the separation of church and state on the neo-nazi killing spree that occured recently centering around the World Church of the Creator, a white supremacist group run by a twenty seven year old failed law student who lives with his parents. Now the Congress wants to put the Ten Commandments in every classroom, which would inevitably spark something that my friend Toby mentioned: A teacher forced to deal with questions such as "If God says 'Thou shalt not kill' why do we have the death penalty?" I am most decidedly an atheist (though for many years I was neo-pagan.) And I'm truly irritated that even the man in charge of this country (though not due to a mandate from the masses) sees me as less than an American citizen.
