Okay, so here's the scoop on me

I was born in
Burlington, Ontario, Canada in 1973.  I have a younger brother and an older and younger sister.  I attended a great highschool, Nelson High, where I met some of the most incredible people that I now call friends.  While there I also was actively involved with musicals and the soccer program.  I have nothing but good memories from Nelson.  Except for the bad ones.

Following Nelson, I attended the
University of Guelph, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada for a Bachelor's of Science in Zoology.  This was a great program, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  It was during the final year there where I discovered my passion: ornithology.  Since then I have had the chance to work with birds in many different places in the world (see Travel page for pictures).

I am presently in my fourth year of a PhD program at the
The University of California, at Davis. My major is physiology, with a general interest in avian physiology, and a specific interest in olfaction.  I have been able to travel to Kerguelen Island, in the sub-Antarctic, two times for my research.  These photos can be found in my photo area, although that page is still a work in progress.

My ultimate career goal is to stay in academics as a professor.  It is due to a professors passion for the study of birds that I now work with these incredible animals.  I will consider my academic career a success if I can one day similarly inspire a student.
