We stayed at the El Tovar hotel this May for a four night vacation at the Grand Canyon. This hotel was built at the railroads behest in 1905. It has a log first floor, and heavy plank second and third floors. It is located fight on the rim of the canyon on the south rim. It is a beautiful hotel with many amenities such as gourmet restaurant, lodge style lobby, second floor lobby overlook, and wide verandas. It has wonderful views of the canyon also.
