Often, many of my excursions involve animals, both wild and domestic, in one way or another. Below are some examples.

The next photo is of a family of European Wild Boar(Sus scrofa). Here in the Southeastern USA, the Wild boar is a non-native, introduced species that does terrible dammage to native flora and fauna--and ironicly it seems to have a special taste for the more endangered of the species.
So, I was glad to assist a friend, the bloke in the below pictures, to raise, butcher and consume a few--they were very tasty!!
Notice my old Land Rover's winch providing assistance to the hog-scalding operation. Yet another use of the worlds most versitile vehicle!
HUNTING
When I was younger I used to hunt quite a bit. I don't hunt now because: 1. I know how to hunt if I am ever in need of meat. 2. I don't believe in trophy hunting. 3. I don't have enough time to hunt due to my job and wildlife conservation activities outside of work.
I firmly believe that we humans must now do our part as the top predator. In areas like the Southern Appalachian mountains we humans have foolishly extripated (killed off) all of the native apex predators like the Grey Wolf and Mountain Lion. Now, in order to keep the managed wildlife populations like the Deer, Turkey, Rabbit and Grouse healthy we must do our part to reduce their numbers as their natural predators would have done.
The below photo is of my friend the Hog Bloke and a nice young Eastern Whitetail Buck that he took a couple of years back.
