TURTLE TRACKS

"MOJO'S TRACKS"

DAY 23:

Location: Mojo has not moved from his previous location. He is still in the area of very dense briers where I found him on day 14. He is buried in the leaf litter under a 3" diameter American Holly tree and as you can see from the above photo only his transmitter and a small part of his shell is visible in the top center of the photo.

Activity status: Inactive and in hibernation.

Habitat: South facing slope on the northern edge of the old field. The tree cover is a regnerating forest of young American Holly, Dogwood, Poplar and Red Maple and with a ground cover and understory of Greenbrier, Multiflora Rose, Blackberry, Blueberry and mixed grasses.
