TURTLE TRACKS
"MOJO'S TRACKS"
DAY ONE:
Location: Mojo's release site was in a sheltered area beside a small spring near the area we call the "pony pasture." Although there are no ponies living here anymore the area does support a healthy population of box turtles. Because it has all the habitat requirements for a box turtles survival in ample supply and because the area has been found to have a large population of turtles I have started calling it the "Turtle Sancuary." This name was coined by John Rucker back in August after his "turtle dogs" found several box turtles in the area.

Habitat: small spring boardered by mosses, grasses, Poison Ivy and ferns. Understory: Rhododenderon, Multiflora Rose, Sourwood, American Holly and Red Maple. Canopy: Poplar, Hemlock, Black Birch, Sourwood, and Red Maple.
Elevation: 2950f
Humidity: 51.6%

Weather: Clear, breezy.
