"JIMMY'S TRACKS"
DAY 14:
Location: Jimmy has moved ~100 feet SE of his day 14 location. He was found walking on the grass in an open field halfway between the forest edge and the garden and seemed to be headed toward the garden. Upon his discovery I removed him from his habitat for 2.5 days while the landscape vrew mowed the fields. On 7/31/08 Jimmy was safely returned to an "island" of vegetation approximately 75 feet from his day 14 location site. He was moved to this "island" for two reasons--1: the tall grass he had been moving through when dicovered was now mowed so he would have had no cover from the hot sun. 2: the "island" offeres great cover and it is a site he has visited twice in the last 2 months so he is familiar with the location and should have little trouble recognizing his surroundings.
Habitat: Vegetative "island" of Blackberries and Multiflora Rose in grassy field approx. 30 feet from forest edge.
Activity Status: walking uphill in grassy field.
