Location: Bones is in the exact spot that he was on day 20. He was under a small American Holly buried under the leaf litter and only partially visible. He has moved deeper into the leaf litter and only a small protion of his carapace iwas visible. It is possible that Bones has chosen this spot as the place he will spend the winter. He is under the small clump of bushes to the left of the small mulch pile in the center of the below photo.
Activity Status: "long winters nap."
Habitat: Edge of small grassy clearing and forest of White Pine, American Holly, Montain Laurel and Rhodendron with an understory of Blueberries. There are also White Oak, Red Maple and Sourwood scattered throughout area.
