TURTLE TRACKS

Adopt a turtle!

Yes, you can adopt (sponsor) one of the turtles that is currently living at the Earthshine R & R facility or one of the turtles that we are tracking in the wild. Adoptions involve a contribution that you can donate to our project operating costs/supplies. Your donation may be in the form of a monetary donation that will be used to cover the costs of veterinary care, housing maintenance such as water filters for the pond and food and vitamins for the resident turtles at R & R. If you choose to adopt a turtle that is being tracked in the field your donation will cover the costs of equipment and fuel. You may also donate new or used equipment--please contact us if you believe you have an item we could use.

Adoption fees are as follows(but you may donate as much or as little as you like):

Hatchling (for kids): $10.00-$20.00

Juvenile (students): $20.00-$40.00

Adult: $40.00-$60.00

Old Timer: $60.00-$80.00

Centenarian $80.00-$100.00+

*NOTE: Adoption titles reflect the age of turtles...not the age of the turtle guardians;-)

When you adopt a turtle you will receive:

*Adoption certificate with a photo of "your" turtle with a detailed overview of its story and current status.

*Your name will be posted on each turtles individual website as one of the "guardians" of "your" turtle.

*The knowledge that your adoption fee is money well and truly spent on the conservation of the wonderful box turtle. Should you request it we will gladly provide an itemized list of what your donation purchased for our Eastern Box Turtle program.

Turtles currently up for adoption are: Tripod, Rose, Tiny, Woody, Mojo, Rowdy, Bones, Catherine, Jimmy, Meredith, Frazier and Mrs. Bones.

NOTE: The TURTLE TRACKS program is an honest "not for profit"--we are truly ONLY for the conservation of the box turtle and education of YOU about why these creatures are so important. While all donations are applied directly and 100% to the operating costs of the TURTLE TRACKS program we do not have non profit status due the simple fact that our small staff is not very savvy with the business end of things. We are simply naturalists working for nature. If you want to know more please contact us via the link below.

NOTE: Please do not attempt to radio-track a turtle or other wild animal on your own. Radio telemetric wildlife study is a very specialized discipline. First and foremost is the safety and correct treatment of the animals being studied and secondly it takes years of study to learn the "how to" of the use of the radio telemetric equipment and other data collection equipment.

Please contact us by clicking the bottle below if you have any questions about TURTLE TRACKS, would like to adopt a turtle, make a donation or if you would like to use any of our pictures. Thank you.
