Check out this beautiful Black Ratsnake (Elaphe obsoleta) that I found crossing the road near the employee parking lot! He was about five feet long and very docile. He never once tried to bite ayone that handled him. We took several photos and then released him back where he was found. What a grand snake!!

While on a staff meeting hike to the West fork of the French Broad river Lisa, Benny and I found this baby Eastern Box turtle! This is a very rare sighting indeed!
While on the same staff hike we discovered a red crayfish in the river! Very cool!
A Five lined skink someone found in Sugars Place.
Gene saw this albino Chipmunk behind the lodge. I was able to get this photo from a great distance--this is why it is so out of focus.
As I was coming into work one day I saw a medium sized female Snapping turtle attempting to excavate a nest site. I stopped the car and tried to get a photo--but she dove for the pond and this is the photo that resulted.
The large, female Northern Watersnake that hangs out on the rocks at the pond.
