October 7, 2002 - I heard from AAC this morning! Ian's passport should be done this week as should his VISA! If all goes as planned, if everything falls into place, if our son stays healthy, he should be home LATE NEXT WEEK!!! Please, everyone, send all the positive thoughts and prayers you can to Korea so that our son will be with us NEXT WEEK!! If he will be home by Thursday, we should get a call by next Tuesday. If he will be home Friday, we should hear by next Wednesday! I will update the second I know anything!!! We are so close! Ian we love you sooo much and want you home sooo badly!!!!

October 10, 2002 - I feel like all of the air has been shoved out of my body. We got a report today on Ian. Apparently he has had blocked tear ducts since July and they ended up doing minor eye surgery (called probing) done on the 8th of this month. I feel horrible that I wasn't there for my son. Apparently he is doing well and our agency director is going to call Korea tonight and get an update on him as well as verify that this WILL NOT delay his travel next week. She told me she will tell them not to hold our baby and that at this point, the only thing that could (biting my tongue) delay his travel is if his passport or visa is not done. I will update this site as soon as I have information. We did get updated medical on him though. He is now 16.9 lbs and 26" long and on target developmentally. YEAH! He is right in line with most 5-6 month olds. WHEW! More when I know. Please send all the good thoughts, fingers crossed, prayers you can to Korea that our son comes home next week. I don't think I can take much more of him not being home. Ian we love you sooo much!!!

UPDATE 8:33 PM: THEY HAVE IAN'S PASSPORT! THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE AN APPT. MONDAY FOR HIS VISA. HE SHOULD BE HOME BY THE 18TH IF ALL GOES WELL AND THEY CAN FIND A FLIGHT AND AN ESCORT. THE EYE IS NOT GOING TO HOLD HIM UP!!!! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HAD ALLLLLL DAYYYYYYY!!! IAN WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! MOMMY, DADDY AND SISSY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOU AND HOLD YOU AND KISS YOU AND HUG YOU AND LOVE YOU. COME HOME SOON!!!!!

October 14, 2002 - IAN IS COMING HOME!!!! It's a few days later than we thought originally but he is coming home!!! He will be home on Wednesday the 23rd!!! Exactly 2 weeks to the day from his sister's Gotcha Day!!! We should have his flight information by Friday!! His visa is DONE! He is ready and they are sending 4 babies at once!! What a homecoming it will be!! I'll update as soon as I have his flight information!! IAN WE LOVE YOU!! SEE YOU SOON BABY!!!

October 18, 2002 - I talked to AAC today and apparently Eastern (the office in Korea) was closed on Friday (Thursday night here) for their company picnic. AAC will call them Sunday night and get flight information and then call us either Sunday night or Monday morning when they get the actual fax with his itinerary. He is still scheduled to come home on the 23rd!!! YAHOO!! So, as soon as I get his flight information I will let everyone know! Have a great weekend and Happy Birthday to my best friend and sister, CAT!

October 20, 2002 - AAC called us tonight and Ian will be home on WEDNESDAY FOR SURE!!! He will arrive in Los Angeles for port of entry and then onto Denver to our awaiting arms!!!  We are soooo excited!! We will have exact details tomorrow morning and I will email everyone ;-) The next post you see from me on here is when he is HOME! YAHOO!!!! WE LOVE YOU IAN!!!

October 23, 2002 - Airport day!!! Ian's Gotcha Day! We are so happy!! We watched his plane land in Los Angeles this morning. It arrived at 9:38 am CO time. He made it! We didn't find out when he would be home until 4:50 pm on Tuesday! He flew in on Frontier airlines!  It is snowing lightly in Denver. Go figure. I had told my friend Dana when her son came home in the middle of the worst summer storm in August, that my son would come home during the first snow! Truer words have never been spoken! We watched his plane take off from Los Angeles and headed to the airport about 1:30pm. He was set to arrive at DIA at 2:45pm. We got to DIA at 2:30 and had a terrible time trying to find a place to PARK! My friend Dana is calling me on my cell phone asking where the heck we were!! LOL! We finally park on the rooftop of the parking garage and head into the airport. We had so many friends there to help us welcome Ian home! Dana, John, Danny, Heather, Jada, Linsey, Deb, Cami, Chelsea, Rhonda, Lillia, Bryce, Tasha, Olivia, Ashley, Jason, and my sister! We looked like we were waiting on a huge celebrity to come in! We watched the escalators, where exiting passengers arrived, in great anticipation. All we knew was that Ian was arriving with a baby girl from Korea. We had no idea what our escort looked like or really what Ian looked like as we were unable to get updated photos. We jumped every time we saw an Asian baby. I am sure people were really beginning to wonder about us!  Our friend John was videotaping everything for us and was posted at the escalator window. Each time a train came in and people came up, we got nervous and anxious. Is it him? Where is he? With each passing minute (hour??? LOL!), we grew more nervous and excited! Finally, John yelled, THEY ARE HERE! I burst into tears and vaguely remember seeing our son come up with his escort. I was running towards them looking like a psycho woman! I couldn't wait to get my hands on him! I couldn't get him in my arms fast enough! Finally, I held him and guess what? He was SOUND ASLEEP! We couldn't wake him for nothing! I didn't care. I had him in my arms at last. Doug was holding Kaitlynn who was being shy and cuddling with Daddy. She didn't know quite what to think now that baby brother was here and real. She finally leaned over and gave him a kiss. I stopped crying at some point. I don't remember when. It was pure joy to finally have him in my arms! He is perfect! His hair, though..oh my. After having NO hair in his referral photo, this child looked like a punk rocker with beautiful brown/ black hair sticking straight up! It's adorable!! His eyes are fine too. We will have the pediatrician check them in a few weeks when we see her. He is just so cute and LONG! WOW! He weighs nothing compared to holding our almost 3 year old though. My arms did get sore though. ;-) Finally, Doug made me realize that he still hadn't held his new son. I gave Ian to his Daddy and took Kaitlynn and just held her. She was sort of happy and jealous at the same time as we figured. I turned around to talk to the escort who brought him here. She lives in Aurora and wants to see updates on him. Then the director of AAC came over and had me sign the paper saying we had received Ian. We also got his diaper bag from Korea and in it was his 1 year birthday Hanbok and 2 rolls of developed photos!!!! We had only sent 1 camera and we got over 60 photos back! They are just incredible! We also got the email address and phone number of the gentleman who escorted Ian here from Korea. He also would like to see photos of him! I think that is so neat! All of our friends were very happy to see Ian at last too. It was a wonderful day and one I won't soon forget! Oh ya, you want to see photos, eh? Here they are!
