He is a phantom -- a wraith. He is a mysterious, other worldly stranger. An evil force took his life. Now an unearthly power has brought him back. He has a destiny to fulfill, a woman's love to reclaim, and he's determined to wage a vendetta against the young punks who put him in this situation in the first place. This supernatural tale pits an enigmatic avenger against a bizarre and brutal band of marauders who have been wreaking havoc on a small desert town. But time soon runs out for the wraith to reclaim his past -- and his future -- as he is pitted against his enemies in this action-thriller. |

RELEASE DATE: November 21st, 1986 (USA) BOX OFFICE OPENING: $1.4 million (USA) BOX OFFICE RESULT: $3.5 million (USA) - The car featured in the movie was actually a Dodge concept car called the Turbo Interceptor. There was only one of these produced, at a cost of around $6 million. Dodge also produced six clones of the car, at a cost of about $1 million each for the movie -- this constituting the biggest expense in the production of the film. All "clones" were destroyed in production. One of the conditions of Dodge's sponsorship were that the Dodge emblem be clearly seen in several shots of the Turbo Interceptor and the Daytonas (as well as the Diplomat squad cars). - While filming a chase sequence shot on a mountainside outside of Tuscon, a crew member was killed and another was critically injured. |

Keri: Yeah, Packard, you can kill me too. Because you can never make me love you! |
Loomis: You listen to me, you son-of-a-bitch! There's a kid out there using his car to kill people. Not that it's a problem for me since it seems to be you and your gang he's got it in for. I just thought I'd let you know that if you guys take the law into your own hands, and that killer turns up dead, I'm gonna see you sniffin' cyanaide in the Arizona gas chamber. |
