Chief Inspector Lee of the Royal Hong Kong police and LAPD detective James Carter arrive in Hong Kong for a vacation and, armed with his Chinese-English dictionary, Carter is looking forward to a much-needed vacation. But Lee, the ever-dedicated policeman, continues with his duties, frustrating Carter. No sooner do they arrive, then they are confronted with the biggest case of their careers -- becoming tangled in a criminal conspiracy involving a deadly Triad. The non-stop action takes them on a journey from Hong Kong to Los Angeles and Las Vegas where they must use all of their talents to trap one of the world's most feared gangsters.

CRITICAL COMMENTS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
"Everything about Rush Hour 2 is obligatory, from the action to the tiresome banter." -- James Berardinelli, Reel Views
"About half as much fun as the original, and for August, that's probably good enough." -- Stephen Hunter, Washington Post
"Chan and Tucker go through the paces with the confidence and flair of trapeze artists who know they can rely on each other." -- Jay Carr, Boston Globe
"How can a movie allow [Tucker] to be so obnoxious and make no acknowledgment that his behavior is aberrant?" -- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun Times
"Even the addition of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon's spunk Zhang Ziyi to the cast can't get Rush Hour 2 out of the sequelitis guagmire." -- Mike Clark, USA Today
"The overall pace is slack enough to make the movie's 93 minutes feel twice as long." -- Jonathan Foreman, New York Post
"Fits right into the Chan oeuvre." -- Paul Clinton, CNN Showbiz
"For fans of the still-youthful franchise, this movie's going to hit the spot." -- Desson Howe, Washington Post
