Arnold Schwarzenegger is Mark Kaminski, a former FBI agent forced to resign from the Bureau due to excessive violence. Now he's a small town sheriff trying to solve the murder of his friend, Harry Shannon's son by the Chicago mafia family, Petrovita. Kaminski fakes his death and infiltrates teh Petrovita family as a bodyguard. Eventually the family starts suspecting Kaminski and then try to involve him in a failed attempt to kill Harry Shannon. With his own brand of justice, Kaminski kills the head of the Petrovita family and is reinstated at the FBI for his heroic actions.

- The car that
Arnold Schwarzenegger's character drives at the end of the film is the same car he steals in the movie Twins (1988) (minus the bull horns of course).
- A sign at the entrance of the oil refinery that Mark Kaminsky blows up at the beginning of the film reads "Irvin Oil Processing Company." The film was directed by John Irvin.
- The cassette tape that Schwarzenegger's character puts in the car stereo before entering The Gravel Pit at the end of the film is called "Street Life" by Jazz band The Crusaders.
