Crazy

Rating: NC-17

Pairing: Tricky/Het

I’d known him half of my life.  But one summer night changed it all.  It was never planned and it was never spoke of again, but it was something that I would never forget and I was sure he wouldn’t either.  It was when I learned the real side of who he was beyond all the fame and the glory.  This is my story of that one crazy night.

Stacie leaned against the wall, her sandy hair cascading down her back, and took a swig of her beer.  She was bored with this party about an hour ago.  All the fans that were in the VIP area with them were swooning over the members of the group, and everyone else was paired up with their friends or significant others.  She, on other hand, was just there, alone, as always.

“Stac, why don’t you come out and dance,” a familiar voice asked in her ear.

She turned to look at the green eyes that stared back at her.

“I don’t really much feel like it Lance, but thank you,” she forced a smile.

She’d been doing PR work for the group for almost 3 years now and she’d known Lance since they were kids.  She’d seen and heard everything with these guys.  Some of them she was close with, others she loathed.

“Come on Stac, you can’t just stand there all night,” he nodded out to the dance floor.

“Alright, will you leave me alone then?” she asked, setting down her beer.

“That’s more like it,” he grabbed her hand and led her out to the floor.

Lance’s hands fell over her hips as they both swayed to the music.

She looked past Lance’s shoulder at the crowd as it moved back and forth.

After one time around in a circle with Lance she looked in the corner and saw the lonely figure.

She squinted, immediately recognizing him.  Seconds later another familiar face appeared next to him and they began talking.

By the time Lance had her around again, she could see the two almost starting to argue a bit.

“I’ll be right back Lance,” she told him and headed in the direction of the two.

It’d be happening a lot lately between them.  The serious one, the crazy one.  She didn’t know what the cause of it really was, but she didn’t like it.

She stood between the two and glared up at JC.

“Stop it, right now, I don’t care what it’s about, just stop,” her eyes focused on his intently.

“This is not your battle to fight, Stacie, please just leave us alone,” he replied.

She turned to look at Chris behind her, who said nothing, and then looked back up at JC.

“Joshua, he’s going through a lot, leave him be,” she firmly replied.

It was obvious to anyone that she and JC didn’t get along.  JC was a very independent and inhibited person, and she didn’t understand him and he didn’t understand her, so in the end, they agreed to disagree.

“Whatever,” JC huffed and walked away.

She watched JC walk off and she was about to do so herself when Chris grabbed her arm.

She turned to face him.

“You didn’t have to do that, I know how to deal with the pesky little brat on my own,” he looked at her.

“I know, but, you know how well JC and I get along,” she sarcastically replied.

They both smiled and turned to look at everyone on the dance floor.

“You left Bass all by himself, you can’t do things like that, innocent little teenies will whisk him away,” he commented.

“I’m sure Lance won’t mind,” she replied.

There was silence for a second.

“You okay Chris?” she asked.

He didn’t know why at that very moment in the past six months he decided he had to talk to someone about it, but he did.

“Do you want to go somewhere and talk?” he offered.

“How about we blow this joint, I’ll go tell Lance I’m leaving so I don’t have to report to daddy JC,” she laughed.

“Alright, I’ll meet you at the front, I’ll have them pull up my car,” and with that they split up.

Ten minutes later she hopped in his red PT Cruiser and they sped off, leaving the bright lights of the Orlando club behind.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

“Crazy,” he replied.

“What?” she laughed.

“Haven’t you ever heard that term?  Where are you going?  Crazy, wanna come?” he answered and smiled at her.

She just laughed, “you’re psycho Christopher.”

“I get that a lot you know.”

“And you deserve it,” she pointed.

He just laughed.

“So where are we going besides crazy?” she asked.

“Somewhere I sometimes go to think.  But you can’t tell anyone I think, they’ll be disappointed, okay?” he looked at her.

He looked more appealing than he ever had to her.  He was clean cut, his goatee shaved perfectly, his hair gelled into perfectly sculpted spikes, his shirt and slacks hugging his body at just the right places.  But she realized what was the most appealing was beyond the jokes; she could see the vulnerability that she’d never really seen before.  Something Chris really didn’t often show.

As the car came to a stop she looked around and studied the dark and misty area before her.

“Where are we?” she asked as she opened the door and stepped out into the humid summer night.

“A place I come often, just no one knows about it…well, accept you,” he stepped out of the car and headed into the night.

She looked up through the mist and could see a small playground, surrounded by sand.

The red slide looked beaten and tarnished like an old truck, and the chains of the swings clinked together like wind chimes.  The crooked merry-go-round was tarnished like an old piece of furniture and the teeter-totter looked like it was on its last leg.

The little playground had obviously been there for years, much well past his time.

Stacie had to let out a slight giggle, this place was just perfect for someone like Chris.

He found his way to a black swing and sat down in it.  It moved back and forth a bit as his feet kicked around in the sand.

She sat down in the one next to him and began to pump her legs back and forth, the swing slowly taking off and making it into the air.

“So you want to tell me what’s going on with you Chris?” she asked quietly.

He just stared at the ground as he moved back and forth.

She’d never seen him so withdrawn and quiet in her entire life.

“Well I’m swinging on a swing in the middle of a sticky night in Orlando,” he replied.

“Cut the sarcasm Kirkpatrick, what’s really going on?  And you can tell me seriously, you don’t have to make a joke of it,” she replied.

He continued to stare at the ground, his feet kicking at the sand more and more as his swing picked up speed.

Stacie stopped her swing by delving her feet into the sand and she just watched him.

Chris wasn’t the type of person you could force to do anything.  Whether it be jumping off an airplane with a parachute or speaking about something that was bothering him, it all came with time.  He was not only scared of heights physically, but he was scared mentally of taking plunges.  Whenever he had to unravel things in his life it was like taking a jump into the unknown.  He was so use to keeping everything to himself, that actually talking about it was almost like making it real.

“Dani,” was all he said.

She looked up at him as he swung higher and higher.

“What Chris, what about Dani?” she asked carefully.

He wouldn’t answer, just made some joke about how do kids really think they can reach the stars on these things.

It was then she reached out forcefully and grabbed the chain of the swing, causing him to turn like a car out of control.

The swing finally came to a turning stop and he looked at her with a deathly look.

“You stopped my swing, Stacie,” he announced.

“Get over it, now tell me about Dani,” she insisted.

He cleared his throat and thought for a moment.

“She came back to me two months ago and told me that she wanted to be with me again.  I didn’t know what to do or say, but I mean, I love her, I always have, so I thought, you know, maybe this was it.  For two months we spent every day and every night together, but I didn’t tell anyone,” he looked up at Stacie’s brown eyes.

Her face revealed a bit of shock, she couldn’t believe he hadn’t told anyone that.  When Chris and Dani had broken up before the release of Celebrity he took it really hard.  It was in the little things he said that everyone knew how much he was hurting, but it was also in the way he was acting and dressing.  He didn’t take care of himself and he didn’t bother with any of the hobbies he loved so dearly.  It was a bad breakup and for her to come back and play games with him again…it was just horrible.

“Chris…”

“Let me finish,” he waved her off.

She just nodded.

“I went over to her place last week to bring her a huge bouquet of roses and you know…ask her…to marry me and well, leaving out the gory details, she was with someone else,” he shrugged it off and dug deep in the sand with his shoes.

Stacie gasped a bit.

“Oh gosh Chris, I am so sorry…” she quietly replied and touched his arm.

“It’s okay, I’m over it, you know, I just, I feel like I’m not worthy to anyone unless I’m this big superstar,” he got up and walked through the sand and back to the car.

Stacie followed him and got into the car.

“Chris, that’s not true,” she insisted.

“You know it is Stacie…”

“Chris, I like you for who you are…” her voice trailed off as his deep brown eyes looked up at her.

He just smiled at her, “thank you Stacie, but you don’t have to say that…”

“I’m not just saying that Chris, I didn’t have to say it at all,” she insisted.

“I don’t know if I believe you,” he chuckled.

“Well, look at it this way.  How many women drool over JC?”

“Millions,” he answered.

“And I happen to think you have a much better personality than he does,” she concluded.

“That’s cause you have something against cats,” he joked.

“No really, I’m so sorry about Dani.  But you’re so much better than that.  There’s a girl out there for you, I promise.  Someone who loves you for you,” she reached over and put her hand on his.

“Thanks Stacie, really,” he smiled.

“Come here,” she leaned over her seat and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.

His arms wrapped around her waist steadily, his body relaxing against hers.  It was nice to feel someone there.

They stayed like that for a moment.

“Okay, sorry didn’t mean to be like a touchy child-molester or anything,” he released her.

“You’re not that much older than me,” she slowly let go of his neck.

She looked into his eyes and he saw them dance a bit when he looked back at her.

She wasn’t quite sure when she made the decision she did.  She was doing it for him and she was doing it because even if it was in a different way, she loved him.  He’d made the past three years on the road with the group fun and he always knew how to brighten her day.  Call it a thank you of sorts.

Her lips met his, her tongue licking across his bottom lip and trying to find its way into his mouth.  It shocked him a bit, but he obliged and returned the same kiss.

His hands held onto her small waist tightly as they kissed slowly and passionately.

“Stacie…I…”

“Shhh, I’m gonna show you just how crazy I can be too,” she smirked into his lips.

She pealed off her jacket as she crawled on top of his lap in the driver’s seat.  He seemed content with her sitting there, his lips trailing down her neck as her jacket fell down to his feet.

Her hands ran up and down his chest and then back up to the back of his head and played with the short hairs on his neck.

“Ahh,”  Stacie squeaked; in one second Chris had flicked the button and the seat fell backwards, allowing her to lye on him.

His hands found their way under her tank top and massaged their way up her back.  His hands were so smooth and soft as they rubbed her softly and slowly.  His lips gently danced their way up her neck and to her lips and then across to her ear where they suckled softly.

His fingers dug nicely into her muscles, relaxing her body and easing her mind.

He seemed to instantly become vulnerable and hungry right below her.  He was starved for love and affection and she knew she could make it better.  She wanted to make it better, to make him whole again even if it only was for one brief moment.

His fingers lifted her tank top over her head as his lips trailed across her collarbone and then back up to her lips.

She left out a soft moan, letting him know that what he was doing felt amazing.

She’d never in her life experienced something so soft and so gentle as his hands and lips on her body.

Slowly and awkwardly their clothes came off one by one.  They didn’t stare at each other, just used their hands to study one another.

Her lips kissed every inch of his skin, her tongue making circles around his nipples and then his belly button.

“Are you sure you want to do this,” he stopped her and brought her face up to meet his.

“I’m positive,” she quietly replied.

“You’re not just doing this because you feel sorry for my stupid ass?” he asked.

“Chris, I’m doing this because I care,” her eyes locked onto his tightly.

She lifted herself up slowly and then back down onto him, his entire being filling the inside of her.

They both called out as she sat there taking the feeling of him in.

“You feel amazing,” she whispered in his ear as she played with his earring with her tongue.

His arms wrapped around her tightly, almost like he didn’t want to let go as she moved over him.

He held onto her hips as she moved back and forth.

His eyes watched hers intently, a look of hunger staring him down.

“Come here,” he wrapped his arms around her waist and suddenly flipped her in the seat.

Their pace never changed, they kept at a steady speed, both of them looking at each other and never once stopping the petting and kisses that were shared.

She could feel him start to lose control, which only made her want to lose control as well.

“Thank you Stacie,” he whispered in her ear, his body lying on hers.

She wanted to thank him for showing her that side of him.

But as their bodies continued to meld together all she could think about was how great it felt being this close to him.

She trusted him and she cared for him and she hoped he knew that too.

His pace picked up just slightly, each of their bodies covered in sweat and kisses.

She sucked on his lower lip and then slid her tongue in and out of his mouth.

“It’s okay to be free and crazy around me…” she whispered in his ear.

At that point he let go, his body shaking as hers clenched around him.

Seconds later she followed suit, his hands caressing her as passion surrounded her body.

“You okay?” he asked as he looked down at her.

She touched the side of his face with her hand.

“I’m perfect,” she leaned up and kissed him gently.

The drive back to the party proved quiet, neither one of them really saying much.

When they entered the club JC was the first one to approach them.

“Where did you go?” he scowled down at Chris and Stacie.

“Crazy,” she answered with a smirk.

“What?” JC looked at her stupidly.

“We went crazy, you should come sometime Josh, it might loosen you up a bit,” she patted him on the side of the face.

“Thank you Christopher,” she whispered in his ear and left.

“You went crazy?  We’ve known that for years Chris, but…”

“JC?”

“Yeah.”

“SHUT UP.”

And with that Chris walked off, a smile that hadn’t been there in months suddenly appearing.

“I should go crazy more often,” he laughed.

 x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I’d learned a lot about Chris that night.  How he hides all of the pain and anger behind a mask of laughter and craziness.  How passionate he can be and how loving he is when no one else is around.  How amazing of a man he is even though people always classify him as the ugly-funny-elf.  Chris is beautiful to me inside and out and he always would be.  You think I’m crazy?  I think I’m as sane as he is.
