Every year I try to add something to the yard. 2003 it was 3 new flowerbeds. Two in the front yard and 1 really big one in the back. Soon I will be able to retire the lawn mower!!

The bed in the front yard was laid out with the soil right on top of the lawn. My soil is hard clay so I hope the plant roots don't mind a good dig to find their place!

My lawn slopes down to the ditch in the front yard. I really hate mowing there :-) I have put in a tiered bed and hope that some day it will cover all the way across the slope.

Each year I do a different planting in the round bed under the hanger. The planting for 2002 was malva and pink wave petunias with morning glory in the hanging baskets. 2003 was planted with purple wave petunias.

The new flower bed in the back yard turned out to be a lot bigger than I planned :-) When I ordered a truck load of soil I didn't realize just how much that was!!

The new flower bed in the back turned out to be too wide so I put in a slate pathway in the middle of the bed. I began planting my new purchases in this bed and will move them to new spots as they fill in.

It's now 3 years later and these flowerbeds are really what I had dreamed them to be!

I have many favorites in my flowerbeds! These plants bring a smile to my face when they bloom and many bring back memories of someone special who gave them to me.
