PEN PALS The men usually died in a blaze of gunfire but the women often paid the price of outlaw love within the drab confinement of prison walls. At least two famous gang gals are pictured here in this group photo taken at the Women's State Prison in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1937. Among these prison chums are Blanche Barrow {center, in white} and Edna "The Kissing Bandit" Murray {left end}. |
