Rebecca Jo Sester "Becky" 11/26/83 - 11/11/99 Many lives were changed on the morning of Thursday, November 11, 1999. Becky had an early class that day, Jazz Band. She was also preparing to play her first saxophone solo in the upcoming Jazz Concert. She was also to be in the school play that weekend. The play was postponed, her part was not re-cast, the concert was cancelled. As I watched from the end of my driveway, a Union Pacific train hit her car, pushing it 790 feet down the track. Because of pending legal action I cannot disclose the specifics of the accident at this time. Becky died within minutes, never regaining conciousness. Our world, as we knew it, no longer existed. Becky was born November 26, 1983. A beautiful 8 pound 4 1/2 ounce princess. Becky is her father's only child. I have a son, Bob, now 26 years old. Bob adored his little sister and would have protected her with his life, given the chance. Becky was a straight "A" student with high ambitions and goals for her life. She had won many academic awards and was in Duke University TIP (Talent Identification Program). Becky had been playing the alto saxophone since 5th grade. The Jazz Concert she was to play her solo in had been scheduled for the following Monday. Instead, more than 600 people including most if not all of her sophomore class attended her funeral that day. Becky loved animals and had planned to become a Veterinarian. Through her father's employer, Becky would have received a full five year scholarship to Kansas State University, with plans to enter their Veterinarian College. We were and still are so very proud of her. She was full of kindness and compassion and is very much missed by family and friends. We are trying to learn to live without her here with us. But, none of us will ever be as we once were. We just hold on to the knowledge that someday we will see her again. |

Loving An Angel | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rebecca Jo Sester "Becky" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jesus tapped me on my shoulder one lovely day, "Please listen to me, to what I have to say. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
"I have a little child I want to share, one with curly golden hair." I listened intently as he went on to say, "She'll be yours to love and care for until the day your task is done and I call her back. Until that day, no joy you will lack." |

I waited and planned during my nine month wait. Hoping, praying I could keep everything straight. Oh what a joyus day we all had when she came home with me and her Dad. My eyes sparkled as I brushed her golden hair, Thankful to Jesus that he wanted to share. I loved her and taught her right from wrong. Wishing only to me she could belong. Almost 16 years went quickly by. I loved seeing life through her hazel eyes. Baton, cheerleading, music lessons, school plays. My, we had plenty to fill our days. I instructed her in lessons of grace, what a beautiful smile was on her face. She grew from a precocious little baby into the most wonderful young lady. All too soon the Angels came to earth, "You've done a wonderful job since her birth but she is being called back home. With the heavenly angels she will now roam. My tears began to flow, my heart was broken. Nothing I could do, Jesus had spoken, "You've done what I have asked of you. You, her Daddy and big brother too. You've taught her well, how lovely she became I know you hurt and will never be the same but hold on to your memories, I'll be your guide and someday I'll meet you at the gate with your Angel by my side. Written by Becky's Mom, Barbara Sester, Dec. 2000 "I love you Becky." |
