 Group Chanting at opening ceremony of
Sri Jayanti Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple
Thrangu Dharma Society PJ was invited by the Sri Jayanti Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple at Sentul to contribute to their group chanting programe on Saturday 10th June 2000. The Society with the support of Chenrezig Centre Klang ( a new member of the United Karma Kagyu Federation ) turn up for the event. There were 35 of us all wearing the colours of the Federation.
The group of chanters were led by Lama Lodro the resident Lama of Thrangu Centre, Lama Tsewang Rabten from Thrangu Tashi Choeling  Boudanath, Kathmandu and Karma Rizin the resident monk.
The occassion was the official opening of Sri Jayanti Temple . Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple. For the occasion the Temple brought over relics of the Buddha bones from Sri Lanka and an exhibition of Buddhist artifacts which
was open to the public.
The Chief Priest Ven. B. Saranankara Thero presented souvernirs to our
resident Lama to commerate our participation for the event . The President of the Temple Mr. G Mervyn Weerasena also presented a book on Buddhism to our President of Thrangu Centre.
This event is in line with the policy of Thrangu Dharma Society , in fostering good will with all Buddhist organisations and it is also timely
for us to extend our heart felt thanks to the co-operation show by our United Karma Kagyu Fedration members Persatuan Cherezig Klang to participate with us in this event.
