Before the start of
our retreat of "Namo Buddha Y2K White Tara Retreat" and after the end we
came to Thrangu Tashi Choeling Gompa in Boudhanath to meet up with Rinpoche.
Lunch treat was organized by Rinpoche at the Gompa on the 19th Feb, 2000.
It was a great oppurtunity to have meals with our beloved teacher and in
return we treat Rinpoche and 20 other Lamas/Monks for dinner at our Hotel.
We all had a great and fun time together, all like a big family.
Our Beloved Refuge.
Ven. Thrangu Rinpoche's
first monestry since escaping from Tibet and this monestry was special
cause it was 30 meters from Boudhanath Stupa. It houses only male lamas
and monks whereas the female nuns are housed in Thrangu Tara Abbey not
far from here. Every morning and evening there are puja session conducted
by novice monks and it is truly remarkable. This also serve as the residence
of Thrangu Rinpoche and we could see that Rinpoche devote his entire life
to propagate the Holy Dharma. No spare time for private business or the
like as there are too many mouths to feed and much teachings to give, thats
truly our Compassionate one named Ven. Khechen Thrangu Rinpoche. In this
degenerate age, we sincerely thank Rinpoche for upholding the blessed and
sacred teaching of Lord Buddha and Rinpoche had practiced and shown
to us ignorant people what Dharma can do to change our lives. Our 100,000
thousand prostration isn't comparable to the slightest action Rinpoche
does. Long Live Our Beloved Guru, Refuge and Teacher.
Conditions around
the Gompa.
During summer the stench
from the nearby dumpsite causes many of the novice to fall sick. For this
reason Thrangu Rinpoche has plans to move all part of them to Namo Buddha
in that time to avoid sickness. One oftens think that life in a monestry
is simple and easy, its true in a way but then unforseen circumstanecs
arise due to many aspects from the vicinity and wheather. To take care
of so many monks so that they stay healthy is no easy task, the love and
compassion activities rendered by Rinpoche is truly the remarkable achievement
and best of all was Rinpoche did not even show sign of tiredness but continue
to perform his duty. Similar to Mother Teresa's activities of non-self
solely for benefits of others.
We will continue to
aid Rinpoche in his activities and may it be a continous success.
Yours in Dharma,
