 LONTHAR (PRAYER FLAGS)
CONSECRATION
BY NAMO BUDDHA'S OLDEST LAMA, OUR RETREAT DRUPON
AND 10 OF NAMO BUDDHA'S 3 YEARS 3 FORTHNIGHT RETREATANDS

NAMO BUDDHA Y2K WHITE TARA RETREAT

Marking the end of our White Tara retreat, an auspicous Ceremony of Consecration and Hanging of Prayer Flags in Namo Buddha surroundings. As estimated 1500 flags were installed on this auspicious day and i think by now the mantra flown into all corners of the world. The oldest Lama in Namo Buddha was presiding over the consecration ceremony and joined by 10 of Namo Buddha's 3 Years 3 Forthnight Retreatands. The whole process took about 2 hours including hanging of flags and it was said to be a very auspicious time and day in carrying out the task.

This is also served as the actual retreat center for those undergoing "3 Years 3 Forthnight Retreat" and it is considered a very sacred and pure ground. The 10 retreatands are now in their last year and schedule retreat completion by mid of the year. We are very fortunate to be able to group up with them and also able attend their daily practices. I assume the   blessing of these Kagyu Lamas is well taken by all of us the White Tara Retreatands. The only thing our friends here does is practice the Dharma day and night, Ven. Thrangu Rinpoche sure knows whats best for his Lamas and Monks. Therefore if one were to step foot in Nepal, do visit this sacred ground of Namo Buddha. Thrangu Rinpoche has in mind more future developements up in Namo Buddha, a new Gigantic Monestry is still in construction and also relocating of Retreat Center to a quieter place down the slopes of Namo Buddha.

The Old Lama who is on retreat till his last breath.

Prayer Flags is abundance up in Namo Buddha, and its essence prevails throughout the year and the prayers from the monestry further empowers its strenght. It is always a good deed to hang prayer flags in blessed places for the benefit of oneself, family as well as all sentient beings. The difference in Namo Buddha is no one will sell you any of these flag unlike in other tourist destination down in Kathmandu, you will have to buy your own flags before coming up to Namo Buddha and have it consecrated by Lamas there before hanging them. Hanging of flags can be easily be arranged by monks there.
