The CD of the Month

My Recomended album of the month

This is the page where i put an album i really like and my review of it. Then if you think you'll like it, you can go out and buy it , or check it out from your library.(please note that the album will not always be recent, i'm a BIG 80's fan ) My Recomended cd for June is: The Wedding Singer-Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Believe it or not, I still haven't seen the movie (I want to), but I've heard the soundtrack and it's great!Hey, it's an eighties collection , what else could it be but great? Here are a few of my fave tracks:
  1. Video Killed The Radio Star-The Presidents of the United States Of America - This is the only song on soundtrack that isn't from the eighties (except for the Adam Sandler song but that's supposed to be from the 80's) well, the song's from the 80's, actually it's from the 70's, but this version isn't! Anyway, POTUSA give a rocky feel to the Buggles classic. I guess cos it was one of their last songs, they really get into it. Definetly worth listening to!
  2. Hold Me Now- the Thompson Twins Now, I know you've heard this one before. Still, it's a great song and worth mentioning. With singable lyrics and Tom's almost too british voice, this song will always be one of my faves!
  3. Blue Monday-New Order - Ahh, I love those lost eighties songs! A 1983 semi-hit, this song is great to dance to. A catchy chorus "How does it feel, Tell me now, how should i feel?" makes it all the more enjoyable!
And, of course, I saved the best for last...
  4. How Soon Is Now?- The Smiths Hey the group may have only been around for 6 years, but they managed to make some great songs! This is definetly one of them! With Morrissey's usually sad , make-you-think-or-cry-or-say-at-least-I'm-happier-than-him lyrics this would have to be one of my faves! How can you resist Moz's plea "I am human and i need to be loved, just like anybody else does"? Then of cours there's some of that lovely British bluntness "So just shut your mouth, how can you say ' I go about things the wrong way?". This is absolutely the best song on the sound track!
