One day while I was walking among the tall Red woods around my home, I came to a clearing in the trees, it was more a moss pond in the middle of a vast forest. I heard a little voice in side of my head and It said welcome, know your place know your path for these trees know all and listen to everything. Softly I walked upon the moss, looking up at the trees in amazement, when suddenly a voice broke the music of the forest. There standing a few feet from me was a wise man, one that had seen the wonders of the earth, he asked me to come over and talk with him.
He spoke slowly and eloquently;
" be happy, there is a good feeling in knowing her fine arts, there is terror to those who are unwilling or closed minded. However know what is in your heart for there lies the truth to your path. Your fears, trepidation's and unwillingness to learn will on be a hindrance to you and you alone"
With this new insight I asked him how will I know her arts. His reply was;
"her arts are not easily defined, you will need to look upon your self in meditation and in nature, open your eyes to everything, do not over look the smallest looking animal or the biggest plant, the smallest creek has a story to tell, for it has come from somewhere and is on its way to another, even if that place is inside of you in the water that you have cupped in your hand, listen to the sounds of the woods, and try to speak back to it. Write down all things that come to you as reminders, but remember what works today may have to be discarded or modified in another situation. Watch the Willow tree as she sways in the wind, try to sway yourself with every person and situation you encounter, look upon the moon when she is full and when she is no longer visible in the sky, for she may not be visible but she is still there speaking to you. Look to the change in seasons, there is not a single thing her earth that is not of her"
With that knowledge I set off on a journey that lasted me 30 years, During this time I have learned much and have a better understanding of what he meant, I was called back to these lands when I dreamt of his calling of me. Upon my return I found him under a Red Wood smiling, he was sitting with birds, lizards and all of the things that nature has to offer. With a deep breath and a smile of ever knowing knowledge he said to me;
"your journey has done you well I see, you need to settle, bring the knowledge that you have acquired to your manor. My time in this place is limited, but I wanted to see you before I go on to the next. Sit and listen with me, and see if you can hear the stories that are in my mind....."
With that I found a resting place in the legs of the Red Wood and listened. What I heard I can not describe in words, nor do I think it should be described, for it is my belief that I was given a gift, one which will stay with me and in my scrolls for time to come.
