"Eternally Yours"
by Demon Hunter Anamae
    I am waiting for him.

Time does not matter to me; in the Realm of the Fairies, time does not flow by. In the silver glades and golden forests I walk with the memories that I have of him. I know he will come, for he made a promise to me, a pact that cannot be broken.

In the brief time that we met I knew that we were destined to be together. We were soul mates, ever entwined on a level that passed the physical, the emotional and the spiritual. He accepted me, and I accepted him for what we both were.

My life has never been easy. The fruit of a passion between a mortal druidess and a fairie, I was looked upon by humans with suspicion and a kind of awe and by the Fair Folk as someone to be tolerated. When my mother passed away, she handed me over to Moebius, Guardian of Time as my protector. I wasn’t protected; I was used. My powers stem from my mother’s ability to communicate with animals and Nosgoth; my fairie abilities allow me to part the Mists of the two worlds. For the good of humans, as deemed by the Circle of Nine, I used my powers to destroy others who would oppose their will.

I hated myself for it.

Depression filled my young life, the sun was blocked out and only darkness filled me. I had tried to kill myself on more than once occasion, but I was stopped before I fell into the eternal sleep. Then he came, an angel called demon by others, into my life. To the Sarafan and the Circle, he was evil and would destroy everyone; to me he was as beautiful as an angel. We met in secret in the Fairie Realm and a friendship blossomed between us that no one could break. It soon deepened to something more.

It was as if we were bound by Fate, the Wheel had created us only for each other. But we were found out and fighting ensued. At the same time, the vampires of Nosgoth were being persecuted and even when I tried to help them, I was betrayed. Moebius had found out what I was doing behind his back, against his precious Holy Crusade, and I was charged as a witch. On the day of my execution, I did not bother to fight what I knew I could not change.

As the first torch was being lit to the hat surrounding me, he appeared. The flames did not affect his blue flesh, nor did they singe me as he embraced me and pulled me from the fire. We escaped the Sarafan Fortress and fled into the depths of Nosgoth. He had come for me despite the risk to himself; but then sadness befell me. We could not stay together. He had his destiny to follow no matter how much he did not want to and I had to depart to the Realm of the Fairies to be safe.

He made one last promise before he departed. After his destiny had been fulfilled, he would come back to me. Vanishing before my eyes, I cried as I parted the Mists and entered into the Other World. I did not know when I would see him again but my heart and soul went with him.

And now I wait, untouched by time in this Realm as I wait for my friend, my beloved. We will be together again, I know that, but until that day comes, I will wait here.

Raziel, be safe and find your destiny.
