Welcome to my rants page. What irritates me? Crappy fanfic. Oh yeah, common complaint, I know, but I can't help it. It's a pet peeve of mine, and there's so many different factors in this one that this might actually be spread out over a few rants. This is a subject that seriously gets on my pecs, okay? This is almost as bad as people stealing artwork for me, so I'm not going to be pulling many punches on this one. If you think you might not want to read this, then I urge you to turn back now. I don't answer flames, nor do I take them seriously, just in case anyone reading this is prone to bouts of written Terets Syndrome.

Well, first-off, having been involved in the Slayers, Gundam Wing, and lately Inu Yasha fandoms, I've certainly read more than my fair share of terrible fanfiction. Did you know that around the time of my involvement in the Slayers fandom that fiction written in that genre was, by and large, considered to be the largest collection of crappy writing on the web? And I can believe it. There was so very little fanfic that passed my way during my stint in there that didn't involve character bashing, Out of Character writing, fan-rumor being taken as cannon information, bad spelling/grammar/formatting, Fangirl Japanese, and frankly just flat-out flame-war material that most times I couldn't even finish a story.

Well, seeing as how this is going to a very long and involved rant (that's how much this pisses me off, people), I'm breaking this up into sections. Makes things easier on everyone, I think.
