Rotger "Big Daddy" Rotgut, founder of STOOL SAMPLE, was born in Camden, New Jersey. Before moving to Atlanta, Georgia some 10 years ago. Rotgut first resided in Birmingham, Alabama and Panama City, Florida. Rotgut has been playing the bass for more than 20 years, and he's been involved with various music groups since 1982. He uses a Fender bass and Peavey rig, and he lists the DayGlo Abortions, the Nihilistics and the Mentors as being his most significant musical influences. Since STOOL SAMPLE's conception, Rotgut has been the guy who has written most of the material, made all of the connections, taken care of any/all business issues of any kind and invested most of the money. He hopes for STOOL SAMPLE to "keep recording quality trash, and to keep performing fiercely." Rotgut also sings most of the lead vocals.
Cholo was born in San Fernando, California and moved to Atlanta in 1996. He's been playing the guitar for more than 14 years and he's been a member of different bands since 1989. His musical roots are along the hardcore/metal/thrash/power-grunge lines. He uses Ibanez and ESP guitars and a Mesa Boogie rig. Cholo's musical influences include Slayer, Randy Rhodes, and Suicidal Tendencies. he brings a vicious thrash-metal/hardcore sound to the band, and he sings back-up (some lead).
Billy Asshole, originally from Chicago IL, moved to Atlanta in 1987. He started taking drum lessons in 1988, he was formely the drummer for the ATL hardcore band The Hard Luck Kids. Billy was also STOOL SAMPLE's 2nd drummer as well, although he never played with the band live. Billy uses DW drums and Zildjian cymbals. His musical influences include Blood for Blood, The Pixies, Jawbreaker, and Dayglo Abortions. To is credit, he easily mastered the hard driving music of STOOL SAMPLE, gigging live with only 20 days of enlistment. Billy's return signifies a revitalization of STOOL SAMPLE past and present, and they remain a tight, ferocious 3-piece band.
