Lexington KY Review
2 nights at 2 concerts, driving to Lexington, Ky, and staying at the same hotel as Backstreet and Shaggy.  Sound like a 12 yr olds sappy fanfiction?  Well for Raychel and I fiction became reality in this 2 day long escapade cleverly nicknamed KY01.
It all began with Raychel's minivan rambling precariously down the highway.  While looking out the window, I knew we were in Kentucky when I saw some construction signs reading, "Whoa baby whoa," and "Leave racin' to horses."  Such clever humor those Kentuckians posess.
When we left the car, the first thing we noticed were 2 large tour buses with bright, bold colors. One was yellow, with SHAGGY on it, and the other was plain green and black swirled.  Squealing like teenyboppers we dug into our purses in a desperate search for sharpies and paper....just in case.  (I guess we were in denial of the fact that not even Nickygene would be stupid enough to walk through a hotel lobby packed with teenage girls).
After we signed in at the front desk and received our room key, we fought for room on the crowded elevator full of girls trying to find the boys.  Whispering things like "I heard they're on 15" and "I saw Howie on the elevator, I swear!", they all giggled noisely and got off on various floors.  At floor 8 we proceeded into our room so that we could drop off our luggage and do some searching for ourselves.
2 hours later, exhausted and defeatedd, we collapsed on the beds in our rooms and sighed.  Sure we had met Krystal and Shaggy's dancers and singers, even seen the boys' luggage, but had we come face-to-face with the boys?  No.  We cheered ourselves up with the fact that we would see them in concert and WOULD NOT SLEEP until we found "our boys."
Running a brush through my hair, and applying my lipgloss one last time, I followed Ray and her mom out into the hall.  I secretly prayed that one of the boys would be on our elevator, but to no avail.  Needing nourishment we ate at a nearby resturant and attempted to pump ourselves up for the concert.  One hint: caffeine does WONDERS for hyperness levels.
As we entered Rupp Arena our first observation was that it was tiny, and poorly maintained.  2 sections of BSB's stage had to be removed from each side because the arena wasn't wide enough to fit the whole thing!  While this concert did have its share of children under 10, there seemed to be an increased population of "mature fans" or people over 20.  Since our seats were nosebleeds, we tried to make the best of it and had a blast.  You could almost feel the energy hitting your body.  I guess Brian and Kev's hometown loves their boys.  If you want a more detailed review of the concert itself, read the Columbus review,
After the concert, we should to eachother with hoarse voices and squealed at how cute Brian was, enviously cursing Leighanne under our breath.  Since we had vowed to stay up all night attempting to search out our boys, we parked ourselves on a bench trying to get information out of
anyone we ran into.  Listening to a door, we learned what room Shaggy was in (only 2 down from us) and that a guy named Bart (or Bert we're not sure) was going to take several girls up to meet "Nigel" which we believe was a code-name for Nick.  While we stealthily tryed to tag along (hehe we were just a TAD too obvious) we failed and were once again parked on our bench.  Sitting there, I met a pizza-guy delivering pizza to Nick and we were mooned by some very pale white boys.  Hmm I guess calling them ugly pissed them off or something.
     After a creepy Jamaican guy
repeatedly tryed to pick us up (even after we told him we were 15 and jailbait) we decided to call it a night.  We slept soundly awaiting the next day of adventure in our 2-day KY01 trip.  If you want to hear about day 2 read the Columbus review!
