Well, I decided that SOMETHING needed to go up while I was busy writing FlipSide 1-2, so I did this: some very basic profiles of the characters. Now, see the raw data on all of the lovable nuts who populate this world! Before you start, though, realize that most of these characters will be defined at first by their relationship with Mark/Ryouga (he is the main character, y'know). And now, back to work!

Mark Powell (11th grade):
a.k.a.--Ryouga Hibiki
Personality--Whaddya expect? The guy's Ryouga, f'r cryin out loud! He's often depressed and angry at no one in particular, and is a sworn cynic. On the other hand, though, Mark has a good sense of humor and an incredible amount of dedication to balance it out. A lot of times, this odd personality mix leads him to be confused and kind of bitter at the whole wide world, especially when it comes to the fact that he's not good with girls (he's the boy friend, but never the boyfriend). Physically, he's not the most powerful guy, but he can hold his own in a fight. Once he Bonds with Ryouga, however, Mark becomes strong and tough enough to get some more respect (and an offer to join the football team!) The unusual thing, though, is that Mark & Ryouga's personalities merge so smoothly, there's no fighting for control of the body; remarkably, these two antisocial guys manage to get along with each other extremely well.

Jeff Collins (11th grade):
a.k.a.--Ranma Saotome
Overall, a pretty good guy. Enjoys acting crazy, and joking around with people. One of Mark's few friends. However, the two of them have a very argumentative relationship, which only gets worse after they become Ranma & Ryouga. Tall, lanky, and an optimist, Jeff seems to enjoy life--even more so when he and Ranma Bond.


Anne Derths (11th grade):
a.k.a.--Akane Tendo
Anne is, quite possibly, Mark's best friend. The two of them seem to share some unspoken connections, and can usually figure out what the other's thinking. She does NOT realize, though, that Mark has had a crush on her for the past two years, and is dating Jeff. After joining with Akane, Anne becomes a bit more hotheaded...but definitely acts as a moderating influence for Akane!!!

Leslie Johnson (11th grade):
a.k.a.--Shampoo (Xian Pu)
Leslie is a very intelligent young woman, and part of the crowd that hangs out in the Aud Lob most of the time. A dedicated environmentalist and liberal, she acts and sings really well. Shampoo is, at first, able to take control of their body and completely suppress Leslie's personality. After more than a few fierce fights for control, though, the two of them do come to some sort of an agreement.

Lawrence Adams (12th grade):
a.k.a.--Dr. Tofu Ono
Lawrence is quite adept with electronics and computers, and actually does programming in his spare time. A kind person, Mark looks up to him as almost a big brother at times. However, Dr. Tofu's annoyance with "P-Chan" will carry over a bit, straining their relationship. Currently, he has been dating Melanie Chesterson for four years.

Helen Johanson (12th grade):
a.k.a.--Nabiki Tendo
Helen is respected by just about everyone who knows her, and is considered to be an extremely logical and mature young lady. Mark is mildly nervous around her, since she has been his "boss" before, in a few school activities. Her attitude and personality make her an ideal partner for Nabiki; they don't get along perfectly, though, and occasionally fight over matters of friends vs profits.
