Exhibit A: Alex's ... er... 'talent' at using MS Paint. Heh

Plumber on the roof. Seems the castle has a flooding problem! LOL!

Super Mario 64!! I've made a Mario64 and Zelda64 (Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask) section of my Mario Kart 64 Profile. Mario64 is still one of the best games around on any console, and was by far the best game of its time (go Shigsy!). There's some nice pictures. Hover over them to read commentary =).

Courses 1-15

Bob-Omb Battlefield 146/146 coins
I've been thrown in the middle of a battlefield! Oh - piece of cake. Good beginner's course, but I'm no beginner =)." Baddies: Koopa the Slow, Chain Chomp, BobOmbs, Goombahs, King Bob Omb. Rating: 7/10
Star #2 - Match with Koopa The Quick - 16'1**
World Record (tie)! Had to tie Myles's 16'2 five times before I managed to edge it. He improved his own and tied me afterwards. Try it - talk to Koopa and then get up to the top of the mountain any way you can (wing cap + cannon preferred).
Shooting a zero-healthy Mario. Too much lasagne, spaghetti, ravioli. Need all 5 food groups, pal.

Balancing act! Tricky, tricky...

Whomp's Fortress 141/141 coins
A great, fun course! Compact, and full of junk to do, with the added extra of a neat course design. I like this place; it's bright and cheerful, and the stars in here are actually enjoyable to collect, unlike some. Baddies: Whomps (slabs), Thwomps (cubes), the owl, Piranha Plants, Bullet Bills, Frumps (walls). Rating: 9/10!!

Collecting yet another Power Star... V for Victory. Jolly Roger Bay 104/104 coins
Hate the eel, hate the cave, hate the goombahs, hate the ship, hate the water, hate the clams, hate the cannon, swimming, all coins, and pillars (damn it, Myles!), and boxes! Did I miss anything? A pain in the neck - it takes too long to do anything in this course. Definitely nothing challenging here, just time consuming. Rundown of characters: BobOmb buddy, Goombahs, Clams (what are they called?), and Eel. Rating: 3/10

Cool, Cool Mountain 154/154 coins
The name says it all! Four (of five) penguins in the game are here, equally annoying, mind you. Lots of sliding and lots of butt-stuck-in-the-snow for Mario. Characters: Spindrifts, BobOmb buddy, penguins, snow-tossing and jumping Mr. Blizzards. Good course - 9/10!
How did the penguin fit through that chimney? How does Mario fit, at that?!

Big Boo's Haunt 151/151 coins
Scary ... nope, boring ... nope, fun ... yup, dull ... nope. As you can see, I like this course. This level is well designed, and appropriate for it's intended theme too (big scary mansion, full of apparitions and flying chairs, a wacko piano, chomping books, a carousel... well, maybe not the last one). I like the carousel music =). Baddies: Boos, Mr. I's, Scuttle Bugs, Crazy Box, Bookends, Mad Piano, and the spinning chairs (name?)... 8/10.

Can't think of anything to write.

Getting ready to wall-kick onto the above picture.

Hazy Maze Cave 139/139 coins
This maze sucks. I perticularly hate the Monty Moles, and the Swoops (bats). It's a dull level, and from all that head-butt-stomping (with the size of Mario's butt), 'Nessie' is still alive... Rundown of characters: Snufits, Scuttle Bugs, Nessie, Swoop, Monty Mole, Mr. I's... too smoggy... 5/10.

Lethal Lava Land 133/133 coins
This course is pretty cool for it's tiny size (it's the smallest level). Koopa Shell and Wing Cap add to the enjoyment-factor. It's easily possible to get 107 coins without entering the volcano, and your star for it. Fire courses are always great ... Rundown of characters: Bullies, bigger bullies, Mr. I's, bullies, 9/10

8-coin puzzle. It fixes itself, and pays you for it. If only life were that easy...

The vulture is gonna lunge any second now. Annnnny second... No, he's on the other side of the level. Well, I can wait for him. Shifting Sand Land 136/136 coins
Unless you haven't noticed yet, the sign bearing heiroglyphics near the Eyerok says "E.T." Klepto the vulture, shell and cannon are great assets to this course. But the pyramid is boring. Baddies: Pokey, Fly Guys, BobOmbs, Crazy Box, Goombahs, Tox Boxes, Rolling Stone, Eyerok, Amps, and the pounding blocks. It earns itself a well-deserved 9.0!

Dire, Dire Docks 106/106 coins
Too long - Mario is no Pieter van den Hoogenband. Baddies: Manta Ray, Clams, shark, weirdo types of yet undiscovered species of fish. 5/10

Snowman's Land 127/127 coins
The igloo is great! The snowman's great as well. Shell riding is great. This world is just great. The programmers deserve a pat on the back (no, not a bat on the pack). I still haven't got more then 10 hats on at the same time with that hat duplicating gitch, though I've seen a photo with about 20. My hats always end up on top of each other ... stupid snowman can't blow me straight =). Also a new coin was recently discovered here, and I've got it already. Rundown of characters: Chill Bully, Fly Guy, Money Bags, Spindrifts, BobOmb buddy, Goombahs, Mr. Blizzards, Penguin. I give it a 10/10 (WOW)!

Wet-Dry World 152/152 coins
Hmm. The programmers couldn't do their Lethal Lava Land magic here. Still, it's not too bad. There's a switch in "town" that I don't know the purpose of ... know what it does???? (ok, so now I've been told, thank you). Shooting the dead Mario is pretty cool ... great glitch. Enough of this world. Rundown of characters: Skeeters, Chuckya, Heave-Ho's, BobOmb buddy, Amps. 6/10

Tall, Tall Mountain 137/137 coins
Yahoo ... terrific stuff here. Great place to see! The only trouble I had here is the bob-omb (above the mushrooms are two bob-ombs) who kills himself if you collect the red coins first off, and so you can't take his coin. All in all, this world rules ... the monkey ("Ukikki") is great, too! Many tricks and glitches here too. You can get the star from the slide without entering the slide; you can fall straight throught the walls at several places; you can get to the cannon in 3 different ways (float, jump, warp); there is a faster way of getting the waterfall star, and many more. The cheap thing is the moles .... I've had enough of moles. Can't Nintendo make a game without moles!?!?!? Rundown of characters: Goombahs, BobOmbs, Crazy Box, BobOmb buddy, Chuckya, Monty Moles, Fly Guy, Fwoosh (cloud), Ukikki. 10/10 (WOW)! ...

Tiny-Huge Island 191/192 coins
This world sure takes the most time to do. There's 192 coins to get, and one of them is impossible (it's stuck inside the moutain). Still, this world is a world within itself ... you can enter big or small. Secondly, there are 2 extra rooms (wiggler, the red coins). Also, Koopa the Quick buys new shoes and loses yet again :). [Note: there are 33/4 coins when you're big, and 158 when you're small = 191/2]. I have to say, this world is still quite something, although time consuming. Baddies: Chuckya, Fly Guys, Goombahs, Wiggler, Koopa Troopa, Lakitu (and Spiny), Piranha Plants, and those fish. 9/10
Koopa #2 Race - 11'1
Tough race. Thanks to Myles for his speed-start trick from Koopa #1 which is used here, David Wonn (world famous glitch-finder) and Steven Zwartjes (ultimate Nintendo gamer) for individually figuring out how to beat Koopa so quickly (actually they found how to do it in zero seconds with a modified trick). There's a nice Chuckya glitch here; can you beat Koopa while carrying Chuckya?!

Tick Tock Clock 128/128 coins
For some reason, I never had any problems getting the stars here. It initially looks boring, but actually it's not so at all. Yup, you can do the last thwomp at the end with stopped time too (I get all 7 stars with STOPPED time (even Get A Hand), including 128 coins). Watch the chaos when you enter at 6 o'clock =) Rundown of characters: Heave-Ho, Thwomp, BobOmbs, Amps. 8/10

Rainbow Ride 146/146 coins
They sure do make some great courses. Not much wrong here. Not that I can see. Maybe the slow speed of the carpet ride, but other than that, it's a neat design. Wow, there's a warp on the castle's balcony! Did you know that you can reach the Pirate Ship without even touching a single flying carpet!? Rundown of characters: Chuckya, Goombahs, BobOmbs, Lakitu (and Spiny), BobOmb buddy, a Fly Guy, Ampss. 9/10

Bowser: Dark World/Fire Sea/Finale
The Bowser stages are not considered worlds, but they are big enough to be. Plus, they have red coins. There is an interesting trick on the Japanese version, but too bad it was editted out of the English. I particularly like Bowser as an enemy in this game; he blows fire, and in the Finale he jumps and runs - something not seen of him hitherto. In this game, Mario actually touches Bowser, also new. He's one of the best villians in any Nintendo game to date. Rating: 10/10 (WOW)!
100 lives and just 11 stars. Go Mario! Playing a lot of the Princess Slide, no doubt.

And the Rest

So this is how a plumber fixes a flooding problem? Wing Mario Over the Rainbow gets 9/10 - where you fly on clouds getting red coins (56 total). Secret Aquarium gets just 4/10.

Left: Is this what happens when you fall from "Wing Mario Over the Rainbow" level while still carrying your wingcap? You fall down in the pond, but do you keep your hat and keep flying? How can you get the cannon and cap without all stars? Why is the water at its maximum height? Who's been overflushing the toilets? Actually it's just a clever trick; Nice...

Hardest Star- 100 coins in Dire Dire - takes time.
Most liked enemies- Bowser! Chuckya! Koopa!
Most annoying creatures- Penguins! Monty Moles! Fly Guys! Snuffits!
Favorite course- Whomp's Fortress, Tall Tall Mountain and Snowman's Land are the best levels...
Most hated course- Jolly Roger Bay! Dire Dire Docks!
Favorite part of Mario 64- Shell Shreddin', Wing Cap, Metal Cap. I like the race with Koopa the Quick.. getting around the 19sec mark is pretty crazy.
Let's dive in that water, huh? Maybe the burst pipe is in there. Hope it isn't the out-pipe from the loo...

Challenge Score Comment
Koopa 1, CC-less@, no warps 18'7!* Perfect? Close to it.. I've got a couple of sub 19's.
Koopa 1, CC-less, with warp 20'5 CBright is under 19 here - impressive.
Secret Slide, no shortcuts 19'6** WR tie. Go, belly flop!
Secret Slide, 80 coins, w/ backtracking 12'8*, hehe Can do 12'7..
Secret Slide, 80 coins, no backtracking 20'5** Tied record. Not an easy one.
Koopa 2, without small Koopa's shell! 13'3** Tied WR. Use the Fly Guy..
Total Stars in the Game, CC-less 112** A perfect score, I think.
Total Coins, CC-less& 2039** Possibly perfect (coins below)

119, 141, 104, 154, 151, 139, 133, 136, 106, 107 (no cannon!), 152, 137, 191, 128, 141

Total Game Time (stars: 70) @ 1:27'03"* Under 90 minutes is hard.
Total Game Time (stars: 50(!))# 1:07'10"* Could be < 1hr without cutscenes =)
Total Game Time (stars: 31(!?!))## 0:49'20"* Under an hour.. sweetness.

@ I start timing from as soon as I start the file, and stop when the cake shows up at the end. There's 74 seconds before you enter the castle, and about 5min 25 sec after getting the Jumbo star.
& "CC-less" means without the aid of any cannons and caps. Don't use them!
# Gera2000 told us of a glitch in the endless stairs (on GameFAQS SM64 board). Do consecutive longjumps _backwards_ up the endless stairs, but instead of doing regular longjumps, press and hold Z, and tap the A button rapidly. You can pass through the invisible barrier holding you back, so you need only 50 stars to get to the final Bowser!
## The above glitch also works on the 50-star door leading to Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride. It's harder to pull off since the stairs are not infinite, so you may need to restart your jumping from the bottom again. If you right right at the door, you'll propell yourself straight through it.. not warning message that you're short on stars. So you only need 31 stars to get the 2nd Bowser key!

Is Mario really walking on water? He's bigger than Jesus! Nope, camera view trick. Still looking for that pipe. Race with Koopa 16"1** I beat Myles on 29/03/03.. after several years.
Rematch Koopa 11"1 (2nd place) WR is 10'3, by Myles. Needs luck.
Princess' Slide 12"7 (equal 3rd) WR is 12'5, by Nash Brown
Total Game Coins 2091** I was the first to get 2091 in a single file.

Legend: *- Believed to be a World Record!! **- World Record Tie!

Zelda64 "Ocarina of Time" Scores

Golden Skulltulas 100** I have 218 using the glitch
Biggest Fish Caught 35lb** There's a rumour of a 36lber.. unconfirmed
Marathon Run (Ride) 0"57!* I was the first to get '58, and now the first to get '57 (but I already had a '56 using the SL glitch). The first un-tied record in years.
Obstacle Course 0"46** World Record! One of those hard ones.
Dampe's Race 0"42*! OMGF, 4 second lead! I rock.
Archery on Horseback 2000** Perfect Score ...
Heart Containers 20** Reasonably easy task here.
Dies to finish the game 0** ..and here.
Game Time 6:40'47hr This includes all cutscenes and text. Details here! This was done on a PAL console. The NTSC equivalent would be 5.5 hours

Majora's Mask Scores

Town Archery 50/50** The fastest way to wealth. 200 each try!
Swamp Archery 2540 41.04s left. WR is 2650, by Snapdragon
Horse Archery 28'49 Hate this one. WR is 19'06..crazy
Goron Races 1'15'26*? Very good score, no errors. Fast.
Beaver Races 23'40, 19'19 42'59 total. Try it on Day 2 =) Not bad.
Gorman Track 56'63*?? That showed those Gormans!
Witch Archery 50 Alright Score. WR is 64 (Snapdragon)
Dies to finish 0** Can't get better than that ...
Deku Game 49'90, 2'16*, 2'10* Sum to 54'16! Day 2&3 have a neat trick (see ^).
Island Jumping 40 Go the Bunny Hood!
Treasure Chest 36'10 (Goron) Stupid Maze. This is slow...
Honey/Darling 37'65, 45'21, 53'64 Sum to 2'16'50 total. With cheating (hit H&D to pause timer for a sec), you can get 1'00'00 Day 3, and 55+ Day 1!
Ghost Hut 1'53"xx Not bad. The first three Poes are hard to kill quickly (jump-attack with GF Sword in 1-hit)

^ - the trick is simple. As Goron Link, roll from behind the warp, get your spikes you, and land on either of the 2 closest moving platforms (you have to anticipate when the platform will come by). Pull back on the joystick once you fly into the air, and hopefully you'll land on the platform as Goron Link. Change to Deku, collect all rupees EXCEPT one. Go talk to the deku's and begin the game. Collect the single rupee you left over, and the timer stops. If you collect all rupees before starting the game, you get 2'00'00 minutes instead, which is a terrible time!
NB: Majora's Mask, like Mario Kart 64, has PAL and NTSC differences. Some of my times (eg Goron Races and Gorman Race) may seem crap to NTSC players, but they are very good on PAL. The NTSC WR on the Gorons is 1'03"41, for example - clearly impossible on PAL. Furthermore, this difference affects most other challenges too, such as Swamp Archery, but not Town Archery. Nintendo should stop doing these nasty things to gamers..

Mario bouncing on his butt in the Lobby. Perhaps the burst pipe is in here somewhere? Estimated World Rank in Mario64 1st Lobby view from inside the Secret Room. Toilet doesn't seem to be here. Are we stuck? Phew!
Trying to sense where the water slushing sounds are coming from. Peach isn't around to direct him to the toilet Bowser's been using after accidentally dining on laxatives... Ocarina of Time

Majora's Mask

no idea (outside top 10)
