Hello everyone. This is supposed to be a hidden page of some sort. Theres nothing spectacular here, really. I suggest you memorise this URL, since this page is will take a lot of reading (if you want to actually bother). You might find it interesting, though. Here are what I recall of the courses and what people achieved in them (and in case I forget sometime, so this is a reference for myself as well). Also, in the end I say who I think deserves the WR (whether they have it or not .. mainly, I'd award my opinion due to past achievements on courses and such). Ill try and provide reasons where I can. There would be outdated stuff here and maybe errors, so don't blame me.
Luigi Raceway - I don't particularly like this course. Kevin was one of the 1st with awesome times, with 1'39"77, after Andy had beaten 1'40. Lap WR was 31"70s. Brian had 1'39"28 a little later on, and Peter had his 1st LR WR here too, with a 31"64 lap, making him have owned a WR for every single course (great achievement! Has this been done before? Or since?). Kevin was first to brake 31"60 with a number of laps in the 3150s. I was second with 3788 (31"57) - Mike followed very soon, and is now below 3150. There was one stage when the top laps were something like 31"60, 62, 63, 64. I think Myles fits somewhere there. Those are Kevin, Brian, Jonathan, and Peter.
I think Kevin deserves the lap WR, since this was his course for a while and was unchallenged on lap for a long time. As for 3lap, most Likely Andy or Steven deserve the WR, since Andy was 1st to brake the milestone 1"40, and Steven got a WR with a 2-1-0 strat (how unconventional is that!).
Luigi SC - back then, Wonn had various SC WRs, and this was one after perfecting yet another difficult SC. Hines, Bernier and Booth also had big times. 3lap WRs included low 1'22" (Dave), then a 24-hour cut by both Dave and Louis, 1'21"48 and 1'21"5x for Dave. Jonathan took that record one step further, to 1'20s, and Mike made his mark with severely low 1'20s. He didn't quite make it to 1'19, he had a 1'20'02. I broke 1'20 first, with 1'19"94 ... For lap, Kevin and Jonathan were tied on 25'89, after which I had 25"87 with the shroom at the end. Lap WRs then went to Kevin and Mike, who had really close battle in 25'50s (25'53 and 25'54). Same day I broke 1'20, I also broke the 'God' SC lap of 25"49 (I was first under 25'50, but that's not such a great achievement.). I got 25'38 soon afterwards and then 25'32 on 2nd lap with running start, within 10 minutes of playing. Since, I haven't hit LR for 2/3, let alone had a decent run at flap PR ... I've lose the jump magic... I did have laps that could have achieved me 1'18, but that didn't happen until Steven first hit it, with his first LR SC submission. In my opinion, Kevin or Jonathan deserve the fastlap WR. Jason with his super low 25"07, and Myles with a very slow 23"99 race also deserve lots of credit for their achievements on the fastlap (get over it Myles, you fluked it =). Either me (I'm not being very biased here), Louis or Mike should own that 3lap WR. Me for cutting off 1.5 seconds to brake 1"20, Louis for having an awesome 119"08 (and hes far worse than Mike at non-sc), and Mike for beating 119"00. Sorry Mike, but I think Louis deserves it more than you do!
Moo Moo Farm - Peter and Kevin were tied once, at 1'15'51 or so. Bernier was at low 1'16. Kevin got his to 1'15"10, snatching the WR off me (1'15"12) by less than a single day (congrats to Kevin). He was pretty ticked off for not getting the 1'14 he well deserved. Brian, I think, was first to brake 1"15. Jonathan, as I said was at 1'16, flew to a 1'14'29 just like that. He also broke 1'14 first, on one of his returns (it's still the WR). For flap, Matt Horwitz had 24'20, which stood until Kevin got the better of it. Kevin again dominated the fastlap until Brian got very good there too. Matt Batastini spent hours trying, and finally got the time he wanted, a WR of 11377. I think Bernier broke 24" first (?). I think Jonathan deserves the 3lap WR, and Kevin for fastlap because of his continued dominance of Mushroom Cup non-sc.
Koopa Troopa Beach - again, Bernier and Kevin had low 1'22s here, battling for the WR. Matt was updating the site, mentioned Kevin being disgruntled about not getting 3 great laps together for a big time WR. Peter also was FAST on this course. Again, I did what I wasn't sure I could, and broke 1"21 first. Since, I've had over 10 times in the 1'20'90s, and held the WR temporarily. Mike, Andy, Steven and Matt Batastini have since made their mark on KTB - the only people in the 1'20s (maybe Andy is 1'19 now =). Kevin and Jonathan were the real tough men to beat on flap, but Kevin got the better of Jonathan and ran away with the WR lap. He held it for a while, and could improve it all the time. Peter, Myles, me, Brian and Kevin (that's it, right?) had a 5-way WR tie at 26'27!! That's almost unheard of for non-sc (only FS SC lap beats that record). Peter and Myles were the first to brake that tie. We really wanted Bernier in that tie as well. Since then, Mike, Myles and Steven have had very impressive laps. I think, however, Kevin should deserve this WR (he dominated Mush cup like no-ones business), and I think I ought to have that 3lap lap WR. Why me? Surely my opinion is biased, but you do have to take into account I raced 3-0-0 for most of my 1'20s anyway, which was a very unconventional way to race for 3lap (27"04 no-shroom! BWAHAHAhaha heh heh heh, cough, ahem).
Then there's the KTB SC ... a rumour, perhaps. but I have seem times printed in many magazines of roughly 1.2 seconds ... go figure... it might not be a rumour after all.
Kalimari Desert This was a good course for me at, WR at 146"24. Myles had told me that if I get a 145, itd be unbeatable (great advice Myles, really worked out =). Peter and Kevin also had great times, as did Brian a bit later on. Peter was first to get the 14539 God, but that was beaten by Brian, a record which still stands (seriously, Andy going between carriages counts as a SC, right? =). For lap, Bernier, Kevin and Peter were big names, yet again. Kevin had a 33"43 at one time. I took a strategy provided by him on of the strat pages (it said to shroom over the sand at the start). This was very hard for me to get right, but when I did, 3343**. I got REAL good at this shroom and this lap, accomplishing sub-40 seconds (33"33, big barrier) PAL first, but not before I had 7 or 8 laps tied at 4007 (3339, a 7-way WR tie, all by me =). The WR went to 3972 (33"10) with Yoshi, which remained unbeaten for a very long time. Even today, the WR is only 0.2 better (compare this to other courses of similar length!). Gallo got his hands on a 31'91, but was beaten by Steven with 32'90. I claimed a 31'91 too, but with an average of 32.94 for top 10, what the hell made you think I don't have this WR!?!?! See, it's nice to read this page, now you know one of my with-held times ... I'm still not telling what it is =)
3lap WR should go to Peter Elsaesser, since he had the laps and could produce the WR 3laps. Without a doubt, the lap should be mine, for several reasons. My top 20 fastlaps (and this was about a year ago, averaged a 33"004 (yes, 2 zeros). I could/should have been in 32"80s many months ago.
Kalimari SC Wonn in 97, and Jonathan and Myles have all gone through the fence (or toppled over it). But me, Mike, and Brian have done it the other way, jumping over the whole railroad. Mike, Brian and Myles are the only ones to have beaten their non-sc lap times though. WR is deserved by Wonn, no doubt. He did it and discovered it years back, but most likely spent minutes trying to go through the fence rather than 20 seconds =) Gallo has a 32'16, Mike has a 32'37, and I have a 32'70. Myles is somewhere real close to that too, I'm certain. However, I think Myles' was done with the go-over-the-fence method.
Toad's Turnpike I had a 231"40*, Kevin got the better of everyone with a low 231. He and Jonathan had a tied lap at 49"94, and later Kevin had it tied with Peter (49"60). Kevin had dominated TT from then on, only temporarily losing the WR to Peter, Myles and Steven. Mr. Booth was also the first to brake the 3"00 PAL barrier (2"30) although Andy said he had a 2'29 as well for a long while. Steven got under 2"30 as well. For lap times, Kevin, Mike and Steven have the best laps around, and usually does his f-laps first lap. 3lap WR here should be Kevin, without a doubt. Lap WR should be either Kevins or Peters, I cant decide on which.
Turnpike SC Probably some of the most unusual news about TT SC is that Peter achieved 2 WRs here. He had also done this in Rainbow SC lap, but other than that, Peter doesnt play SCs at all. Kevin again, had the WR, which Wonn beat. In the 133"20-133"70 zone, I dont know who had WRs, but Peter took it with a 133"18. Myles got good at TT very quickly, and WRed at a low 133 as well. Myles also took the lap, with 29"35. Steven also achieved a low 1"33 and 29"30s, but I was not far behind took WR lap from Myles at 29"33 (I only beat this yesterday, 27-4-00), and even more astounding, I beat all the times on my cart by 0.3 seconds and got 132"86. Brian recorded a 132"93 times within 24 of hours me. Myles beat the then-God of 29"19 his pleas for not to change God to 28"99 were unanswered, and God was changed to 28"99 anyway. Myles took 3lap back with 132"77, which was later beaten by Steven, Mike, and Greg for the WR. More recently, Kevin pulled off a 32"79 no-shroom first lap to finish comfortably with 0-1-2 for a 13245 WR. IMO, Myles should have WR and lap, but 3lap is up for grabs here there are many good TT SC 3lap players, and the times are very close and very fast.
Frappe Snowland I had 142"97 and 33"14, as WRs in 98. Since then, the lap WR has gone back and forth between Peter and Brian mainly. They are very close on 3lap as well. The lap was finally taken out of Peters/Brians hands by Mike, only recently done, too. Myles, with a good record of FS fast laps (hehe), also has his mark on the flap not quite a WR though. The 3lap WR still belongs to Brian hes held it for a while now, and people have come very close to beating it, but have not managed that feat. Brian should have the WR 3lap (and he does), and Peter should have the WR lap (Im awarding one each, since they were SOO close). Theres the Horwitz saga, of 3218 lap, which it is claimed he skipped the whole 3rd turn. This, IMO is much like Yoshi Valley jump-the-hairpin, so Matt should get credit for his time whether its considered an SC or not (if not, its a WR then).
Frappe SC Jonathan, Wonn and Kevin had the best 3lap times a while back. Later Kevin held both DK and FS WRs at 22"77 and 22"55 respectively. FS was the second fastest course in the game (not anymore). Kevin posted his strat for the 1st lap in a Kart-community newsletter, and many people caught on. I had Kevin beaten with some mid 22", and as Ive said before, Ive held over 20 WRs here =) mainly because I kept improving the 3lap time again, and again, and again bit by bit until it stood at 22"15. Myles also had a 22"15, since he became very good as well. He decided to beat me, and I didnt approve =) I got 21"97, 2200, 2200, 2202 and 2202 in one night, all in about an hour overall. Jason is currently second, [after a few slight hints here and there] with 22"05. Mike and Myles are still impressive, and Greg has joined the sub 22"15 bunch. Lap WR was a big tie with 5"47. Kevin got 5"45, and after he had done this, others started to get 5"46s. Wonn tied Kevin on 5"45 on a small return to Kart. Needless to say, that WR didnt last very long Myles got his first ever WR with 5"44. [I was offline at this time, since a netbus virus had invaded my computer, and a certain Win.com file, which compiles itself and cannot be reinstalled was deleted by the hacker =)] Anyway, I need a FS PR, and Myles and me talked regularly on AIM and such. I invented the slide + shroom strat for FS SC fast-lap (thats right, so gimme all the credit here, okay? If I hadnt someone else would have though of it). People at the time liked to use auto-fire instead. My way was faster, and resulted in a WR of 543. I told Myles about it, and we decided to temporarily hold it secret. I got 5"42 and he followed suit. I told someone, Myles told someone else and in the end word had got out. A large number of people knew what me and Myles were doing here. Myles stunned all with 5"41. This was later tied by Greg and Jason (flukes I tell you, all of you =) j/k). Myles again stunned all with 5"40. IMO, I deserve the 3lap WR (I have it already), and its either Myles or me who deserve the fast-lap WR. Myles has proved what could be done and simply because he has got results and I have not, he wins. Jason also gets a special mention since he has a 541 and an NTSC WR for 3lap. More recently, Myles got a 3lap of 22" flat, but he's not quite got it yet...
Choco Mountain I had a 140s here, when 140 was first broken. It was Kevin and Peter, of course (this was not Jonathans best course at the time). Peter got a 13996 (or 95?), and Kevin got about the same. I got good and in some time I WRed a few times. The end result was 139"21, later 13890 and a 3226 lap. For lap, there were TONS of people in mid 32s. I had a 3906 (3255) in the earlier stages. This was tied by Kevin. I had a slight dominance in CM for a while, but God times of 13799 was super hard to get. Brian took the 3lap WR a few times, and Mike started to get real fast here as well. Peter was at this time at 138"20s. I got God with 137"80, which was beaten by Brian with 13753. Mike came real close, 137"88. Lap WR was between me and Peter for a while. In the end I got 31"91 (beat God, 3199). Peter went inactive sometime and wasnt retaliating. 31"94 for Brian. Now Steven has also achieved impressive 3lap and lap times. IMO, I should have both WR 3lap and lap, but Brian is too fast and consistent on 1-shroomers. Congrats to Brian for 3lap WR, and anyone else who has managed a Choco Mountain God time (because they are hard!)
Choco SC Wonn discovered just about every CM SC there is, but Jonathan was the first to perfect it, 109"47. I had managed a 109"60, but later got that down to 109"42. Later I wanted a much better time, and beat this a number of times. I ended the story with a 108"05, and soon after 108"03. You can tell Im not very happy about missing out on 107s by so little. After me, Jason was playing CM until he achieved what he wanted to. He did with a 10919, NTSC WR. Louis (10856) and Sami (10830) and Greg (10839) have had awesome times since then. Jason improved again to 108"42, and last but not least, Mike with 108"14. Lap WR was 22"15 or so by Kevin, with a weird shroom pattern, to say the least =). I had that beat with 2213, and later low 22s. I was first under 22"00 seconds (this is all converted, by the way the PAL time is not a barrier at all). I had the WR at 2193, after which Whalls and Hines tied for NTSC at 22"03. Mike and Louis joined me at 2190s soon after. Mike temporarily took the lap WR, after which I played it I got it. I did, 21"83. IMO, I deserve both lap and 3lap WR (no surprises here). I had over 1 second lead on second placed Jonathan when I first hit 1"08s, and my time is yet to be beaten. This could change very soon, for my laps were short of anything impressive. As of 1st May 2000, Simmons broke 108, with 107"56 with the laps he was getting, you could say that this race is "pretty crap", yet a sub 108 seemed inevitable. Recently, Myles got a 21'82* lap, beat me by 0.01 ... how fair is that?!?!
Mario Raceway There was a competition for whole would be first to brake 115. Hines and Peter had a bunch of WRs here, constantly battling for first place. I was first to brake 115, with 114"97 with a 2-1-0 shroom strat. Brian raced the first 1-1-1 time under 115, with 114"93. Kevin and Peter were next under 115. I raced a 1-1-1 of 114"58, but Brian again had that beat. Mike has since then achieved 114"40s, and Steven even better with 114"35. Andy got yet another WR here with 11417, but his times were removed because of refusal to provide any form of proof. Lap WR consisted of battles between several karters. Of course, the then-inactive Horwitz had 23"18 the whole time, so none of them were actually WRs. I had a 23"28, which was tied by Steven, but beaten by Brian (23"26). Steven then tied Brian for equal second place. IMO, Brian or Steven deserves to have the 3lap WR, and Matt deserves the lap WR. Matts 23"18 was considered fake by some, but has since achieved a 23"34 on a blank cart, which beats big names such as Simmons and Booth.
Mario SC I have no idea who had the 3lap WR. I think Jonathan had it, when it was beaten by Mike with 52"98. I was playing MR SC too, and a 52"85 WR came out of nowhere. Jonathan achieved a 52"56, which was beaten by Louis. Mike and Louis currently have awesome times, 51"56 and 51"63. Lap WR was a tie between Jason and Paul Solo, at 16"33 (?). Kevin had beaten that, too. Times kept improving until Kevin got 16"10. At the time I had a 16"00 WR, which I lowered to 15"90. It was some time before anyone else beat 16 seconds. I still had this WR nevertheless, even when there were people close behind. Jason and Mike tied at 15"88, after which I played MR again and beat it. Meanwhile, Mike was getting better all the time, and using another shroom strategy. He recorded a 15"72 time, after which I got 15"73 (15"725, but that rounds up). Steven got 15"70, so again Mike improved to 15"66. Currently there are many people sub-16 seconds. IMO, Mike deserves the 3lap WR, but Louis is not far behind. For lap, its again between someone and me. Me for first braking 16"00 and having a 0.2 lead, and Mike for getting the great results. Ill probably have to lean towards Mike on this one.
Wario Stadium I had 3lap WR at one time at 342"97, after had beaten Horwitz with a 114"05 lap. Later this went to 113"29. Brian, Peter and myself were battling for it at one stage. I finished off with 113"03. Brian broke 113 with 112"90s. Steven requested help in WS, and next day got WRs without receiving any help =) 112"94 lap and 341"43. Brian didnt approve easily, getting 112"87 and 341"39 after some time. Andy claimed some more WRs, so Brian lowered it to 340"90. Not sure whats going on here now, but the times are FAST. Deserving players? Hmm, could be Brian since he held the WR a while, then again Steven shaved a huge amount on both times to get near world #1 times very quickly. Steven for 3lap and Brian for lap
Wario SC Ah, get away, get away! It was just Louis and Jonathan here for a while. There was great potential for WRs, but this course is not easy. Jonathan was at 16"30s (or 16"27?), which is still a pretty good time. Louis had the lap taken care of, 3"89. The lap cannot go very much lower without the better SC method, quite possibly devised by Wonn, and achieved by Myles, with a 3"80s time, followed by 3"70s. Greg caught on and they had some close battles. Myles stunned the world again, with 2"92 (you have got to be kidding me.) Then again, Jason was even more impressive with 2"89! After playing for 3 hours (Ive done that, so why cant I get a good 3lap), the Comeback Kid also managed to smash the WR, with 14"87! Bernier, not to be outdone, raced a 15"16 just a little while after. There have been many people with the 2/3 races which have been 14s (and lower) bound (Kevin, Myles, Ben, me, etc), yet Jasons record still stands. Jason for 3lap, and Myles for lap anyone disagree? More late-braking news ... Myles recently got 13'95* ... what a damn fluke! This SC stinks.
Sherbet Land Peter and Bernier were both record holders on 3lap and lap. Then again, Matt had had 139"22 and 32"19 for a very long time too. As usual, the WRs here have drastically decreased. I even held it at one stage, being the 3rd (after Matt and Peter) to brake 1"40 barrier (2 minutes on PAL), and held the WR at 139"20, 138"27 (tie), and 138"19. Mike and me both became very good pretty quickly here, getting the god times without too much difficulty, yet we raced different strategies. Lap WR went From Matt to Mike, and I came a-tumblin after with a god-time lap. Not before Peter though, he was always there first he even set a then outrageous 13876 3lap time. Steven had made his name known here, Sherbet land being one of his first, of many, great tracks. He holds both WRs now, being the first to brake 32" and 1"38, with 137"77 and 31"81 (awesome!). Not to be outdone again, Mike also broke these two barriers huge. 3lap and lap to Steven, no questions. Of course, Horwitz had held them for a long, long time, and Peter was one of the first to brake a number of barriers (140, 139). Credits to them.
Royal Raceway Jonathan and Peter were big names in Royal, with 2"27s, but Matt was still some way ahead in lap, with 47"75. Other notable Royal mentions include Jason and Kevin, who also showed prowess from the start. Ive held WRs here too, with 47"68 and 226"36, a little later at 22604. Peter jumped ahead of the pack and broke 2"26 first, and took the lap WR as well. I had caught up, but didnt get to beat Peter. Along the ranks, many others have since greatly improved, and several karters have broken not only 226, but 225 (wow!). Lap WRs have gone to Jason (NTSC lap WRs), and later to Peter, Brian and finally Steven. 3lap has been recently been a one horse race, Steven. Speaks for itself, congrats to Steven.
Royal SC yes, not the easiest of SC, I can assure you. 3lap WRs by Wonn and lap tied by Wonn and Booth. Hines was also a big name here, having had both 3lap WR and 2nd place lap (32"50s). Times here (like 3lap) are hard to perfect, so at the time, the WRs were great. WRs have since gone to Bernier (32"36 lap, still great today!), followed by Jason (143"47), Mike (14279) and Greg (142"09). Lap WR went to Myles (sub-32, yikes!), and stayed there, until Myles himself recently beat it, with 31"88. The 3lap WR is a story of its own, and doesnt reflect true Royal skill. Basically, a transport glitch on lap 3 would secure a WR. I had the non-transport WR at 20369 (143"08), but now that belongs to Myles with 142"51. Coincidentally, there are a couple of people who can get under 142 here without transport (Steven, Myles, me). 3lap and lap WR deserved by Myles, no doubt. Royal credits to Greg [s cartridge], which somehow awarded him a 00000 lap time go figure, but its a first.
Bowser's Castle easily Jonathans course a while back, having great times on 3lap and lap (37"15). Bernier has also taught a few people some tricks here, also being one of the first to use 1-1-1 and shrooming over the grass at the start. His lap was later tied by Peter, and beaten by me (at this time Jonathan had no WRs left). Kevin put a stop to that, with a quick reply 37"04. Im not sure who broke 37" first, but it was either Kevin or Brian. Jonathan made a return recently, scoring two 2nd places in NTSC, showing us hes still got the BC in him. 3lap is a hard race to PR in, but Gallo ahs amazed a lot of people with 3 sub-37"50 laps to get a 152"16. This stood as the WR until Steven took it, currently at 151"63. The lap WR has also drastically decreased, currently at 36"36. Jonathan has since returned, and missed the NTSC 3lap WR by 0.01. However, he set a lap record of 3652. IMO, Steven for lap and 3lap, hes too fast on this track. Sami Cetin gets a 3lap mention for being so very close to god, 15201 (2nd place).
DK's Jungle Parkway This is one of those tracks that has a lot of potential for most karters, but its one of those tough ones to get a good race in. From what I can recall, Peter and Jonathan had their share of records here. Matt Horwitz had yet another unbelievable time here, a 3640s lap. It was some time before this would get beaten. This was perhaps Iacopos best non-sc track, recording many 3laps which were almost WRs. He may have had a WR here, but it didnt remain his for long. Michael Liem had a WR here too, 22016 (15680). In the more recent PRs, Brian had reached not only 154s, but 153s. After WR exchange with Andy, he finished his DK racing with 15302 and 3573. Before this lap was set, though, there was yet another karter who was not known for WRs, Neil Marsden. Neil had the lap WR, and beat his lap a number of times. Brian and Neil battled for it, both having 360 laps. Neils lap is still 2nd overall. Even now, though, a 154 time is a great achievement. Only several players have recorded such a time (Brian, Steven, Jason, and myself). Brian is the holder of 3lap (very fast laps, huge WR lead he deserves this one), and Marsden should get fastlap credits, for constantly pulling off WR laps.
DK's SC Not so much an SC, this is a simple programming glitch (by extending the finish line too far), and you this S tests is your jumping ability and "skill" at hitting spot-on really tight angles, i.e. this SC is largely based on luck. For these reasons, there is a LOT of potential here, with knowledgeable DKSC racers like Myles claiming that under 20 seconds is possible. Nevertheless, the WRs have since been far from it. Jonathan and Kevin with 3lap WRs, and for f-lap too. After Kevin held on a 2277 3lap, he taped that at the very beginning of his tape, and sent it off. Learning the tricks of the trade, receivers caught on. Greg, Myles and Jason currently have 3lap times only within 0.2 seconds of each other, 2184, 94 and 2202. Lap WR was held by the Boothman for quite some time, until tied and later beaten by Myles, who is currently on 3"80. This SC really is a nightmare, so to all these guys who have pulled off the results (sub 23, sub 399), theyve done a good job. Lap for Myles, but 3lap is between Myles and Jason here. But because Myles uses an illegal 1st lap turn to get under 10 second laps, he is disqualified by the Kart Federation, and Jason gets honours for his exploits =) Recently, Myles got a 3'76 ... gee Myles, what's the point when you had the WR already??
Yoshi Valley Jonathan and Peter were at it again, but for a while Peter held on. In fact Peter held on for quite some time, until Brian challenged his record. The result was both had a 12791. After Mike became Legend, he killed the records for this track, with mid 127s, followed by some more 127s, and finally 12709. Laps were a similar story, Peter and Jonathan at first. I had some YV speed-tricks to, getting a 2707, and soon after a 2705 lap. Peter had beaten this, with a 2680s. I raced a 2688 not too far after, and at this time others (such as Kevin) were showing they were capable of very low 27s. At around this time, Mike independently discovered one of Wonns secret SC, and did it in TT, whilst David had only done it in GP. He had some great times with accidentally falling off at the end, and getting the SC to work. I too had a 2657 this way, which was not allowed since the lap-skip is a glitch and SC. As Mike became good in 3lap, he also became good in lap. 2656 WR, followed by 2645. Peter had a temporary comeback, and improved both YV times, a mid 127 3lap and 2661 lap. Brian, Jason, Steven and a few others also have mid-high 26 laps. Mikes laps are too fast on this course, he definitely deserves 3lap and lap WRs.
Valley SC Valerian Grunberg first broke 3000, with 2997. This is also one of those fluke-SCs, but its full potential has been reached, unlike DK. Kevin, Jason, Louis and Jonathan had 29" laps, and later 28" as well. Jonathan, Mike, Louis and myself have sub-28"50. Kevin thrashed his old PR with a 3rd place 28"13 3lap. Greg had since almost maxed out YV with 2800. Myles felt pretty determined to own this WR, and dropped a couple of hundredths to 2800 as well. These times are very fast, considering the best laps "possible" only add up to mid 27"90s. There is very little to no room for improvement of this WR. Lap WR was 883 by Kevin, and a little later 862 by Nathan Johnson. There were a few people only several hundredths behind that time. It was severely thrashed by the YV SC v2.0, since Mike had 780s. Explanations of how the SC was done soon came about, and many people have since hit it for fast laps. The fastest lap with the v1.0 was 8"41 by Jason or Myles (no sure who), so 862 was by no means the lowest time possible. Since v2.0, I had beaten Mikes 760s lap with two 760s and a 758. And only a short time later, Jason with 757 WR. Greg and Myles for 3lap (both 2800 WR, pretty much unbeatable!), and Mike for lap (getting v2.0 to work in TT, by accident), although he's ranked 4th..
Banshee Boardwalk Lets see, Jose Del Risco had 3492, and Peter had a few WRs at various stages. I later got some PAL WRs (not sure if they were overall WRs), and it took me a long time to beat them. Meanwhile, lap WRs kept changing hands. A Happy Kevin learned how to putt (and hit 400+yd tee shots), and scored a hole in 3456 WR. Steven had this beaten, currently with some time way beyond anyone elses reach (34"37?). Mike showed he could do similar, and got a 3443. Notable lap mentions include Myles, Hines, Liem, Cetin and Whalls. 3lap WR was Peters for a while, but overtaken by Jason who hasnt looked back. He got the god time/WR in non-sc finally, with a Toad 14539 "History" braking time. This has only been beaten by Steven and Mike, who both had WRs. Mike currently has a 14517.
Rainbow Road Jonathans course for a while, with a 50398. Peter was second with 50475 (?). Not too much later, I could get 503s semi-regularly. There were other WRs along the way, but Brian had some impressive stuff already at this time, 50188. Jason had a lap WR here, with a 14050s, and soon I could manage similar efforts. Brian had 13984 lap, but with new experimenting on shroom and SSMTs, I was on fire in Rainbow, 13933 and 50106 WRs. He took a low 500 WR of mine, and broke 50000 with 45980s. He also managed to edge the lap time, currently having both WRs at 45842 and 13850s, later a 13835. WRs have not moved since, but plenty of karters have sub 501 and 140, two of the big milestones. 50000 is one of the biggest barriers in the game itself, but only several players have beaten it. 138 laps include Brian, Steven, Jonathan, Sami and myself. Sub-5 include Brian, Steven, Jonathan, Sami, and Myles. Great work by these people. WRs credits to Brian for 3lap and lap.
Rainbow SC one of the great challenges in the game! 35500 for 3lap WR by Kevin, one of the few memorable historic times. From when I was playing, Jason and Jonathan were big names in bow SC. Jason had lap WR and Jonathan had 3lap WR. I had this lap WR not long afterwards, with 11553. Jason beat this, and the times dropped to fairly low 115s. Peter pulled a big surprise here, being the first to brake 115 with 11495 lap. 11478 for Jason not long afterwards, and he ticked a few people off as they had no idea how its done. 3lap WRs were from 349 by Jonathan to a 348 by Jason. This was further lowered to 34751 WR by Jason, and Myles came very close with 34755. Kevin improved from 355 to 347 as well (hehe). Then I improved from 348s to 34723 WR, which was tied by Steven. Then I beat that again, with 34703 WR (god is 34699). Mike beat me, with 346s. Kevin also rushed past, and scored a 34670. Mike lowered to 34656 WR on a spiral attempt which went horribly wrong, only to be beaten by Greg with 34640s WR on his spiral attempts. Jonathan decided to come back to good ol kart, and scores himself a god time as well, 34681, stating he can get 345 with some hard work. Im became of being confused on this double-bonus on the LKR sheet, so decided to get god non-spiral times, whilst racing for more spirals. I hit a PR lap (11436) and 34608 WR on the 3lap in one attempt end of 3lap story. Lap WR after Jasons 11478 saw Myles getting a 11472, and soon after I joined in the 114 fun. Kevin and myself improved to 11450s, but Steven first broke god with 11443. Mike beat this with 11434, and later 11430. Meanwhile, Greg gets his second Rainbow SC WR with 11425 lap, only to be tied by me soon after I steal his 3lap non-spiral. Soon after Bernier's comeback, Jonathan hit this course hard, with 1'14'13 (I think) and 3'45'67. Great work!
Rainbow Spiral Dave Alseike (spelling?) claimed a 110 a while back, promoting the belief of a spiral-hit. I try some weird methods, and succeed in a slow double-jump landing the bottom of the spiral, only to land bang smack in the chain champs way (I know of a few guy's who have done this). Confused and excited, I may as well have hit another chomp on the way, after hitting the wall countless times, on perhaps the most embarrassing Rainbow race of all time =) Little did I know, I would hit this another 51 times later on (up to date statistic). The spiral quest died after many failed attempts. However, Myles rekindled the candle by hitting it by a different strategy, landing a 10702. Seeing is believing, and Myles tape gets sent out to many karters. I learn of what Myles did (by word of mouth), and eventually hit spiral with 10639 (big) WR. Steven and Ben Miller also hit spiral, but were less fortunate in their races. Wonn, wanting to have hit every single SC there is, hits spiral himself and joins the "loopers club" with a low 108 run. I hit tons of more spirals, with the first 105 time, a 10590s followed by a 10589 WR. I was learning the strat to perfection, averaging at least 1 spiral hit per hour of playing. Mike tries countless times, and completes his 1st spiral with a 10570 WR. He later does it again, with 10567 only to be edged by Greg and his spiral success with 10566. I decide I want my WR back, but only manage a 11898 PAL (10582 lap). I currently have 52 spiral hits, and perhaps fifteen 105" laps. For 3lap, I made the SC for 1/3 spiral (2/3 normal) several time, scoring under 340 several times, and eventually 33830 with bad laps. Greg edges me yet again with 33824. My potential here for 1/3 is 33700, with many sub 338 attempts gone wrong on 3rd lap. To other news, Andy claims a 10530s (or lower) spiral and 319 3/3 spiral hit (apparently he has hit 3/3 quite a few times, as much as 40), much to the disbelief of everyone on the planet. Spiral credits to Myles for braking 110 with it, Mike for a WR lap on his first hit, and Greg for 2 WRs and Myles, for getting a 10630s lap, not bad! Extra credits to Greg, Myles and myself for hitting spiral 1/3 for a 3lap 33824, 33830 and 34297. In my opinion, both spiral WRs probably should be mine, but things dont often go the way I plan them =) At the very least, I deserve the 3lap WR for 1/3, and one of these days, Ill get a 337. I hope more and more people can hit the spiral soon (just not for under 10582 =), since this SC may very well replace the non-spiral SC if enough people can hit it. Dave Crawford has hit is since! ... the list is growing...
If you read this far, I didn't write all that in vain. Now, I don't even know why I wrote all that out ... oh well, there you have a bit of history of kart times as I saw it.
