NOTE:
Singles released "Shattered Glass", "Cry Wolf" & "Power Of Love"
Celine Dion seems to like Laura's choices for songs especially "Power Of Love" which happens to be one of Celine's biggest hits, but Laura brought the song to us before Celine.
But before Laura there was Jennifer Rush & Air Supply and after Celine is Michael Craw

REVIEWS

Pop songstress gets to showcase her strongest assets here: powerful, sustained vocals and convincing lyric interpretation. The results fit best with adult contemporary; album offers more ballads than usual. Best bets: "Shattered Glass," produced by Stock, Aitken, Waterman; "Over Love"; and "Spirit Of Love."

TOUCH Laura Branigan The long, tantalizing synthesizer introduction sounds familiar, but surely Laura Branigan wouldn't
be singing that old Shirley Ellis novelty Name Game, would she? Well, surprise indeed. The track, arranged by Jeff Lorber, provides just the bit of fun and funk this album needs to make it such a splendidly well-rounded pop production. Branigan changes a few of the names she rhymes -- Ellis did Shirley and Lincoln (after her co-composer Lincoln Chase) for instance, while Branigan does such white-bread monikers as Rick and Joanie. This is still a song that manages to be simultaneously dopey and sexy in some ineffable way, and Branigan seems to have fun with it, backed by students from Saint Finbar School in Burbank, Calif. The LP also includes a range of material from the regretful Jude Johnstone ballad Cry Wolf and the romantic Power of Love (co-written and already recorded by Jennifer Rush) to the medium-hot dance tune Shattered Glass. Branigan fans couldn't ask for a more creative mix. (Atlantic) -- Ralph Novak
