William Friedkin the man who brought you "The Exorcist" & "The French Connection" directs the video for "Self Control" which happens to be one of the first well known
videos to be banned from MTV unless it was edited, which it was.
The fight to be number 1 in Germany begins with Laura's version of "Self Control" and the original artist version by Raff.
Both compete to be number 1 and in the end…Laura WINS!!
Laura's version hits number 1 around the world but only
reaches to number 4 in the USA. .
Plus Laura wins the Grand Award at The New Artist Competition held in
Japan with the song "The Lucky One'!Other artist who have recorded songs off of this cd, "Self Control" - Ricky Martin on his
1993 "Me Amaras" album and Kirk Smith who recorded a rap version
And Johnny Logan doing "the Lucky One on his "Love Is All" cd.

Branigan's third album is a superbly balanced set of powerful rhythm pieces and big, torchy ballads. The stand-out in the latter category is a heartfelt version of the Carole King classic "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow." Several of the songs were translated from French into English, and have the continental flair that characterized Branigan's top 10 hits "Gloria" and "Solitaire."
