We have lived and explored here in the NC Blue Ridge Mts.. for 20 yrs. now. Before that, as college students we often visited from the islands around Charleston, SC.

Western NC is full of waterfalls and we have spent 20+ years hunting and exploring all we can. Now, finally with a computer,
we have extended our search on line. We discovered Curtis and Libby's page which has interesting historical comments about the falls and was a joy to roam around in although we only found 1 fall which we haven't been to. The minimal directions will be enough to get us there we hope! Half the fun is meeting people and hearing the local stories as you ask around.
We have the same experience in our quest for local caves which there are many of in this region also. More on caves later.

Did you catch the computer comment above? I broke down and got one after waiting years to get in on the newest, best technology. I finally realized that day just wasn't going to happen, so I guess we have it as of March '97! (Intel Pentium with MMX). It is more than I will ever need but one of the best toys I have had in my life!
One of the first things I did was surf the world through Yahoo by going to the list of countries and as the mood struck picking one. Next I checked a listing of all the cities and started seeing what was being done there. One of my favorites I stumbled into is Samara, Russia.
