So, what happens when you visit a flea market in Venezuela and want to try on a pair of boots, but you're not wearing socks?

You have to put a green plastic bag on your foot! (apparently it's a law down there to prevent gringo tourists from contaminating the local footwear supply). I ended up not even buying the boots, because after trying on 3 pairs and finding defects in each one, there was a simple conclusion as to why they were only $30. And unfortunately, I also found out why they're called 'flea' markets... ya know what I mean?
