Coins Primary grade students can use this web based learning site to learn all about the basics of money. Counting on Coins Lesson - Students utilize a variety of activities to learn about money.
SHOPPING Lesson -Grades K-2 -- Students are often taught money skills through the use of worksheets. They're seldom given a chance to apply the skill in a realistic manner and often become bored with the drill of worksheets. This lesson provides them with practice opportunities prior to going into the community to shop. Grade Level: 2-4 Lesson You have just won a $100 gift certificate to buy some toys! You must try to spend as much of it as you can without going over. Let's go shopping and have some fun!

Money Match - In this activity, children play a change counting game. My Own Store - In this activity, children will cut and paste items to go with each price tag, then swap with another child and purchase each item to show an understanding of pennies and nickels by recording correct combinations of coins.
Name That Coin - In this activity, children examine coins to identify them and determine their values. Coin Game - The object of this game is to provide practice in trading coins. Pennies are placed on a circle gameboard. After spinning the spinner the student takes the identified pennies and places them on the graph provided under the penny column. Play continues by trading up, or moving the pennies into the nickle column and then dime column until the combination totals up to a quarter. The game may also be played as a "race to fifty cents", "race to one dollar", or to any combinations students require assistance in trading
