Kon'wa! Here is chapter eight! I hope that you enjoyed chapter seven, I had fun writing it. ^_~ I can't promise large amounts of waff in here, but I'll try my hardest. Forest Walker Chapter Eight Usagi didn't heed Mamoru's shout this time. She ran down the stairs to the other Mamoru. Her heart broke. She was intent on only seeing this man whom would love her in the future, and she would loved already. To at least give Mamoru comfort that he or his family had never received after their deaths. It wasn't fair to them. She reached out a hand to Mamoru, but it passed right through him. She frowned. Why? She looked up at *her* Mamoru, who had come down the stairs to stand beside her, looking at his own self, and his family with sorrow. He held one of Usagi's hands to show her that *he* was there for her. She buried her face in his shirt. "I'm so sorry, Mamoru. I wish this hadn't happened." Mamoru grinned into her hair. "Well, Usagi, I sometimes wish it never had happened either, because of my family. I am sure that they are happier now, but I do not mind anymore that I perished to save my family. If I had not, I would not have had the chance to meet you, to have your love. Fate is strange, love. Perhaps the only way our two souls could meet is if I did die, so that one day I would find you." Usagi nodded slowly. She didn't want to lose him in any way. She stood up slowly. "Let's go, Mamoru. I do not want to sadden you anymore." Mamoru nodded and they went back to *his* world, soon to become hers as well. Mamoru could tell she was getting nervous about the whole thing, but knew that her stubborn heart and mind would not change her choice of staying with him. To make her go further into her choice, and assure himself that she was not going to be losing anything vital, *besides life* he asked her more about what her life was like before she came to this area. Usagi stirred in his arms, for she was still in partial shock, and the warmth of his arms helped to calm her down. "My family life?" She asked slowly, as if asking him if he really wanted to her anything. Mamoru nodded, holding her tightly from behind. "I want to know more about you, Usagi." He said quietly. She closed her eyes and began talking. "Well, to start off, I guess you could say that we are from a well to do family. My father was very rich, and was a good man for business. He knew what to invest, and what not to invest. We were never lacking for money." Mamoru was silent as she paused, his only movement to stroke her hair gently as she collected her memories. "As much money as we had, we had to make a show of ourselves. My father took us out in society, where we were made to talk or walk a certain way, where every move that we made was watched by those around us. If we acted the wrong way...then my father would become very angry. He never hit us..." She said hastily, when she sensed Mamoru's anger. "He was just very demanding. He would shout at us, asking us why we couldn't do it *his* way, the way that society demanded of us. It was terrible of him, sometimes, to make such a big deal out of little things." "Then one day, he forbid me to play with my old friends anymore. He said that they were beneath me, and that I had higher standards in life. I was only nine at the time when he told me all this, and I didn't see what he meant by it. They were my friends! We had fun together and now my father was saying no. It was hard. My friends didn't understand. Instead they taunted me, calling me names. I felt truly alone at that point, stifled by all the rules around me. I didn't care about the money at that point. All I wanted was to have a happy home, like the ones I read about in books." Mamoru leaned his head on top of hers. "It sounds hard, Usagi. Truly hard to live. Being so high up in life can be a burden on your heart." Usagi nodded. "People think that having money is so great. It can be. It helps pay bills and you can have something extra when you walk into the store. I wanted to just act like myself so many times, but my father's rules prevented me from doing so. I was put into boarding school when I turned twelve, and was moved from school to school because of the way I acted. Eventually, I did end up here, at the School for Model Girls. This is where I met you." Mamoru smiled and kissed the top of her head. "And I am so glad that you did, Usagi. I am so very glad that you came my way." Usagi turned around in his arms, and brushed the hair out of his eyes, playfully kissing his nose to break the solemn mood somewhat. "Mamoru, can you tell me of your family life? Even a little? I won't press if it hurts you to talk of it." Mamoru shook his head. "Not right now, Usagi. I will tell you of them soon, but it has to be the proper time." He bent down to kiss her, and they lost themselves in the kiss, holding tightly onto one another. Usagi was happy, then she felt something inside her tug, and she tore away from Mamoru quickly. "Usagi! Usagi! Where are you?" Both Mamoru and Usagi heard the shouts, and Usagi's eyes filled with tears as she realized that the girls from the school were calling her. She didn't want to leave Mamoru, but the closer they got, the more her grip on Mamoru's world slipped. It seemed that she would never be a part of his world, as long as their was something that tied her to her present world. She realized, with a start, what that main tie was. Her life. Usagi's eyes widened, but she didn't tell Mamoru of what she thought. She couldn't let him know of her realization. She instead hugged him tight once more, and kissed him on the lips. "I'll be back again, Mamoru. I promise. I guess we can only visit eachother for now, until we find another solution." Mamoru nodded, his eyes again filled with sadness. He kept on losing those he loved. He thought he had gotten used to his solitary lifestyle, until Usagi came. He didn't think he could go back to it. He needed Usagi. He didn't voice it though. If she was going back yet again, then it meant something was still tying her back to her life.....back...home. Mamoru swallowed hard. He didn't think of that! Of course she couldn't truly stay with him for all time at this point! She still had life, which he did not. He could stay if he wanted to, she had no choice but to go when someone called her, when her *life* demanded that she leave this place to go back to living, instead of a shadow of it. He didn't want to tell her that, though. She may think her only option was to keep on visiting. He wanted her to come back, but he also wanted her to stay with him forever. He carried Usagi in his arms and set her down in a niche in the wall. "This is still sturdy in your time, too, Usagi." He whispered, stroking her hair. "This is where they will find you." Usagi nodded, tears running down her face. She reached out for Mamoru once more, but he was gone, and she was staring into the faces of several people from the school in a wreck of a house, and she knew that it was be impossible for her to go back to Mamoru again. They would lock her up this time. She stood up wordlessly, and let them carry her back to the school, where her freedom would doubly end. She was put in a smaller, more secure room when she got back to the school, and a guard by the door. There was no window for her to escape. They all thought she was crazy, and they talked of sending her to a mental institution for her own saftey. The forest was declared hazardous, and they were sending a crew in the forest to tear down the house. When Usagi heard that news, she cried inside, but showed no outward display of emotion, and talked to no one, including Aiaka. She hardly ate at all, and would stop eating all together if they hadn't threatened to force feed her. She gave up the fight. She felt utterly alone. "Mamoru! How can I be here? At the house?" She asked, confused, but happy to be in Mamoru's arms once more. Mamoru looked sad. "Usagi...you are not truly here. You're only dreaming. I wish that you could stay here longer, but we can only see eachother through your dreams now, for we call out to eachother." Usagi nodded, crying. It made sense. She wasn't even allowed out of her room without an escort anymore, what made her think that she could make it all the way to the forest undetected? She sobbed into Mamoru's arms. "Mamoru...soon there will be no chance for me to visit you in the forest. They're taking me away from the school. They see that I hardly eat, and I won't talk. They think I'm crazy...always running off into the forest. When they saw me in your house they thought something terrible had happened to me. They couldn't know!" Mamoru just held Usagi tightly, stroking her back every so often, or kissing the top of her head while she cried. He had hoped that there would be a chance. A chance that she could escape,to be with him in the forest once more. She couldn't run off, even if she had the chance. He leaned down to kiss her once more, to find that she was fading from his arms. It was like she was the ghost,a and not he. He sighed and waited for the next night...where they could meet once more. Usagi looked up to see Headmistress and another man near her, carrying her gently to a car. She knew that today had to be the day that they were taking her to the hospital. Where she could never escape. She twisted in the doctor's arms and fell out of them, and tried to run. It was no use, for the Headmistress had a tight grip on her arm, and Usagi was unused to using her legs for so long. She made one final attempt, though, and tried to run again, only to hit her head on the side of the metal car, falling blissfully into Mamoru's arms. What do you think of that chapter minna? Feedback, ONEGAI??!!
