The Truth

Heero thinks about Relena.

Heero sat at his desk, leaning back in his chair, thinking about Relena. It had been months since he had last seen her. He cringed at the reason why.

?Relena, I can?t love you! I can?t do it?
?But Heero, I do. I love you. Why can?t you show your emotions??
?Just leave me ALONE!?

The last sentence had done it all. It had caused him to be separated from Relena. He kept on telling himself that he was a stupid fool for doing that.  Now, he was trying to find a way to win back her love. He picked up a pen,
and reached over his desk to get a writing pad. He released a sigh, and began to pour his thoughts out on the paper.

To Relena.

FEARS

Yes, I know that each moment with you is?
Well, you know, too wonderful to describe,
Too special to forget,
And too short in time?
But even in these too few moments with you,
My heart is constantly plagued with fears?
Fear of being apart from you,
Causing you to forget me,
Fear that the pure energy of the forces of earth,
And the heavens above in the love that I have for you is still inadequate
To keep you with me?
Fear that I may say the wrong thing,
At the wrong time,
Or not say the right thing when I should,
But hold my tongue,
Leaving you not angry,
Not frustrated,
But worst,
Disappointed with me,
With our relationship,
With my love?
These fears are always prying,
Pulling inside of me,
Twisting my thoughts,
And leaving me in a panic?
It?s not that I fear losing you,
Because True love is never lost?
It?s that you don?t know how much you mean to me,
Right here,
Right now,
For always?
Heero

Heero sat back and looked at his writing. His whole had poured out all his locked up feelings into that poem. He felt so good to let it out. Now it would be up to Relena to make him feel complete.

That night, Heero snuck up to the Peacecraft Mansion, and scaled the wall up to Relena?s balcony. He peered in from an angle, and saw Relena in front of her vanity, combing her silky hair. She was wearing a long, light blue gown, and was beautiful. Heero silently cursed himself for letting her go. He creeped up to the window and knocked on the glass, sliding the letter under the door. Then quickly concealed himself in the shadows. Relena ceased brushing her hair, and turned towards the door. Peering from the shadows again, Heero saw her get up and open the french doors, sending a whoosh of air in her face, causing her hair to blow in her face. ?She looks so beautiful,? Heero thought, watching her pick up the letter. She held in to her heart, and looked around to see if anyone was there, then went back inside, leaving the doors open. She sat back down at her vanity, crossing her slender legs, and expertly opening the letter with a small penknife. She unfolded the letter and sat straight up in her chair to read it. Every now  and then, she would wipe away a tear and place her hand and her chest. Heero was watching all this from the shadows. She gently laid the letter on the table, and then walked out through the doors and stood on the balcony, and stared up to the sky. Tears were streaming from her face as she looked at the stars, tears that glistened in the moonlight. ?Oh Heero!? She said out loud, then burying her face in her hands, sobbing deeply. Heero couldn?t bear to see this and went and put his arms around her shoulder. She turned to meet his face, her eyes opened wide, and placed her face on his muscular
chest, with her hand nearby. ?Oh don?t cry Relena. Please don?t.? Her loud sobs became nothing more than a mere sniffle, in a few seconds, and she looked up at his handsome features. ?You don?t have to fear Heero. No fears.
I will always, love you.? ?So do I? came his teary reply. ?I love you, forever and ever, never will I fail in doing that.? His lips brushed over hers, and for that moment and always, the past was forgotten. There was no fear.

*AN. I would like to thank my brother, Colin, for the poem ?FEAR?. I borrowed it from him. He wrote it, I read it, and thought that it would make a perfect fic, so I did it.
