Trowa Barton is a young boy whose background and history are unknown. Information about him are all estimated, but from the beginning of the anime, he came from the L3 Colonies before being sent to Earth. Even the name "Trowa Barton" is not his real name, but merely a codename. He used to be known as "Nanashi" which means "No name". Trowa does not think much of names, as we see from his response when Quatre asks him for his name when they first meet. He only sees it more convenient to have one. When the real Trowa Barton was assassinated, Trowa then took over the identity. He is another one of those characters in anime who do not talk much and keep to themselves and has a lot of secrets and mysteries around them. Trowa's character is cool and quiet and doesn't show much expressions or emotions. He likes to work alone and doesn't like others getting in his way and is also entirely fearless and will put even his life on the line if he sees the need. Even if it means to join the enemies pretending to play along with them as long as it will help him succeed in the long run. Having said that, sometimes Trowa doesn't think about the consequences of his actions which might lead to his own danger. He is the skilled pilot of Gundam 03 or Gundam Heavyarms. However, he attempts to hide his true identity by joining a world traveling circus and working as a clown when he is off duty. He is extremely good with animals, which is the reason why he managed to get recruited into the circus as he tames a fierce lion on his first visit simply by extending his hand towards it and greeting it. He doesn't make much friends either, at first his only friends are the animals at the circus and another member of the circus, as mentioned above, Catherine Bloom, who is in fact his real sister. Trowa's real name is Triton Bloom, but you do not discover that in the 49 episodes of the series nor the OVA. Trowa also becomes a very close friend to Quatre especially towards the end where Trowa has saved his life several times. But he does not think much of himself and his life, and sees himself as a weapon made for fighting. He will throw away his life without hesitating if he sees the need of it or if he has no other choice. As the series progresses we learn more about Trowa and we begin to see he is a very considerate, helpful and kind person. But Trowa's ultimate sacrifice would be his life to save Quatre and Heero. Quatre had been affect by the Wing Zero's cockpit system (Zero System) and had become insane, killing everyone and everything in sight, even attempting to kill his old comrades. Trowa also loses his memory after snaping Quatre back into reality. He was thought to be dead, but was in fact, floating around in space, he ends up going back to the circus and that is were we see a very different Trowa. A somewhat emotional and weak one. But, Trowa does not stay in the circus for very long. The war has not ended and he is still needed.
