Summary: Freak. Mother. Prostitute. Priestess. Avenger. Combine them all and former Avenger and Celestial Madonna, Mantis, is reborn! Around the world, disparate variations of the woman called Mantis are being attacked by the mad Titan called Thanos! As each manifestation of Mantis is destroyed by the powerful Thanos, the others become more aware of their true identity and impending fate. In a final desperate act, the being who embodies Mantis' "adept" persona sends out a mental summons to the Vision. Realizing that his former teammate is in grave and immediate danger, the Vision gathers the other present Assemblers: Scarlet Witch, Thor and Silverclaw, to rescue the last remaining Mantis!! Jarvis tries to dissuade Lupe from joining the Avengers but she reminds him that she is now an Avenger. Despite her bravado, Silverclaw realizes that this is a much smaller team than she's worked with before and that more will be riding on her than in past missions!

As Thanos battles the newly whole Mantis in Alaska the battle is joined by an errant hero, Haywire from the Squadron Supreme. The battle is joined by the Avengers! As the battle turns, a flash of brillaint energy transforms Mantis into a fully restored and cosmically charged Celestial Madonna! Finally, "this one" is whole again!

Comments: This story marks the first time that someone other than her creator, Kurt Busiek, has written Silverclaw in a significant way. The inclusion of Silverclaw alongside such MAJOR Avengers as Thor, Vision & Scarlet Witch bodes well for her future as an Avenger!
