Unquiet Night
          Lying in my bed
Gazing at the stars out my window
          Questions start rising to mind…
What do the stars think of us?
Do they take particular interest in a single person?
Have they the emotion to weep at the passing of a soul?
Or do they not care at all,
Only seeing a race bent on self-destruction?
          These thoughts linger
Till at last they take control of me
          And I find myself remembering
          Once forgotten bitter-sweet memories…
The thoughts are a part of me
Yet I try to deny them
I gaze once more at the stars
          Feeling that they somehow, somewhere
          Hold the key
          To what?
          I do not know

          Nighttime Visions
The heavenly bodies shine upon a shadowed world,
The stars are winking, and the moon is smiling,
Walking around in the pale moonlight, I stare blankly into the dark unknown.
Flowing dresses and ornate crowns dance through a young girl's mind,
Singing a song, the nightingale shares its mournful tale,
Eyeing a meal, an owl swoops down for the kill,
Words are whispered; a lonely woman cries,
A ripple in the water disturbs a serene night sky.
