A Note From Reggi in Iowa

Hi everyone!!  I took Steph's note and thought I was up to writing a bit for you.  Bueller KNOWS that I know how to do this thing, but he was wrong about me being quiet because I have an "ism".  That Tex-Mex food was sorta on the HOT side and my little beak was blistering and was s-o-r-e.  But anyway I degress.

Last night Bookie tried and tried to post on the forum, but the server prohibited entrance into the web site.  Anyway, I did get to tour Maytag and such a busy place it is!  Bookie showed me his assembly department and the one he actually started about 6 years ago.  Those Neptune washers are cool.  I liked the stainless steel spinner so much that I just had to hop in a machine to check it out.  Wrong move!  I jumped in just as the lads started to test it.  Bookie got to laughing really, really hard at me because when that puppie hit 1000 RPM, he said all you could hear from me was "YEEEE-HAAAAAAW!" and "RIDE 'EM COWBOY!" from me.  Man, it was a blast.  I tried to get him  to let me have another ride but he said NO! and started laughing at me again.  He said my feathers were all fluffed up like I was a ten pound cotton ball!

Later, I got to meet Ron Jones.  He is a fellow pin club member and also the head of the Paint Department.  Jonesy  is a cool dude.  I got to paint a couple of cabinets and only got a little over-spray on my tail feathers.  Bookie's wife Ruth is really nice.  She let me have my own Queen-size bed to sleep in.  She says she will miss me when I leave for Germany tomorrow.  (But I do have company :o)  )

Bookie was really nice to me.  We got up early this morning and went outside to check out the Leonoid meteor shower.  TOO COOL!!  There must have been a million of them!  I didn't know he was seeing stars other than the ones in his eyes!  Then we went to work and about noon, I got a real, brand new Maytag washer and dryer combo that is right up my alley.  He will ship them to Uncle Willie for me because my back pack is on the small side.   To answer Stephanie's question, Bookie did see that I was made a Low Rater and I do have my very own button.  It will go next to my Virgil pin in my collection.  Bookie even autographed it for me.  I like it here as I have all the other homes I have visited.  It is quiet at Bookie's and that is good as I do need my rest before leaving.  I wish I was going to be here for Christmas, because Jim Lange and him have teamed up to throw a special contest.  Bookie's questions have always been killers, but that Jim is as crazy as his clone cousin Bookie, so this will be interesting.  They are two of a kind!!  Guess I will go.  Ruth is making my "farewell to Iowa" supper.  'Tater soup, bar-b-qued brisket, corn on the cob, peaches with macadamia nuts and lemonade.  No wonder the good Doctor's so fat!!  It's not all that Guinness.  See you soon, Bernd!!
