Empty Promises
For so long,
You have carried your burden.
Now it has become heavy,
And you wish to put it down.
The strength has left your body,
The spirit unwilling to belive.
As you lay your burden down,
A messenger comes to you.
Whispering sweet promises,
And empty words you wish to hear.
And once again,
You find your hope.
Your burden you will bear.
And so you continue on,
To a land of empty promises.
