Ranking in the list was based on fan vote, NOT by a so-called panel of experts.

My first problem with a list such as this is that it is hardly accurate unless under controled conditions. Current phenomenon and fanatics tend to skew the accuracy of such lists. Though this list is incredibly good it is obviously wrong on many cases. Some films on here I wouldn't have even considered. And others are ranked much too high or too low. Case in point, Scream is ranked far too high at #3, while John Carpenter's The Thing is ranked far too low at #92. But even given its inaccuracy it is a great conversation piece given that you can talk about it with fellow fans and discuss how you would rank certain movies and what was left off and what should have been left off.
